Yes I am and that has potential. Only a few modifications. 1. The razor must be an Artist Club razor. 2. Only Feather Super Pro blades. 3. The brush should be a paintbrush. 4. Only Williams soap to make sure it's a horrid lather.

    30 Day Rule - July 2015
    July 25th
Razor - Feather SS AC/Gillette New LC
    Blade - [IMG] (7) voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg (4 2/3)
    Brush - Omega 10066 (BoS)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Water splash, Alum, Nivea

Typical early and fast Saturday shave. I stayed with the Feather SS, just cut it back to one pass with a follow up with the New. BoSFat was spectacular. The first pass with the Feather was really nice. I wonder if maybe I overthink a bit on days I have more time. Seemed like by speeding up a bit and just worrying about getting it done it felt great and I didn't do any damage. The second pass with the New and Voskhod (NewKod?) (VoskNew?) got me a nice DFS and I was ready for the alum. Not as much burn as usual so maybe there is something to less concentration on each move and just letting the shave happen. Nivea cooled it off and out the door I went looking for suckers qualified buyers for some quality automobiles. Happy Saturday a bit late and here's to a day off tomorrow!

Automatic 2 pass smoothness via GSB, per usual! I really like Florida Water. Today wasn't even incredibly warm, but 93F, UV index of 11.2, 22% humidity and absolutely still air make summer in Colorado feel like an oven some days, @Boojum1 knows how it is. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great weekend!

I'm never letting that razor go west without me again. Seriously.....fresh crab and salmon and I'm not there to eat it? Or even smell it? I call FOUL! Man oh man the view up there in your pics is as magnificent as the food my friend. What a great vacation!

    Sunday shave #15

Still a little rough from yesterdays shave so I did three passes and left it at that. Not much irritation and just one weeper but the shave fell short of DFS. I took several razors to my 12k stone and then through the pasted strops. I want to see if that makes a difference for next weeks shaves.

    Homemade Pre Shave
    QCS Cubano Breeze creme
    Kent BK8
    Whitehead scuttle
    Dovo Bismark
    Dry Gulch strop
Alum block to keep my fingers dry
    Alcolado AS
    Speick ASB
    Dior Eau Sauvage

    Have a great weekend!

Razor – Gillette Slim (J3) set to 9
    Blade – Voskhod (2)
    Brush – Shavemac Silvertip D01
    Lather – Mitchell’s Wool Fat
Post - Witch Hazel & Floid Amber Sample

Used the Slim again today dialed up to 9. Normal 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG and ATG produced a near BBS, so I decided to chase the baby and touch up my normal trouble spots on the chin and jaw line. Ended up with a fantastic BBS shave with no nicks, weepers or irritation at all. Finished up with a splash of Floid Amber from my sample pack. Between the MWF and the Floid my face feels great.

    30 day rule - Day 26
MDC unscented Face Lathered with a touch of TOBS Rose and TOBS Lavender
    Ladas blade
    Slim Adjustable set to 9
    3 passes

I moved the slim setting up to 9 (from 8). I am unsure if this resulted in a better shave. It does not feel worse than yesterday, nor better. I will repeat it at 9 tomorrow before deciding whether or not to go back to 8.

Congrats Clint! Great set up today, and I'm glad you found the baby with the Slim on 9. I'll shave once more on Monday with the New LC to finish up this blade, and then I'm back to the FB on 9 for the rest of the month. Reading the reports from both you and Mark, I'm excited to move on to my Slim in August.

    Proraso Sandalwood cream

Current Blade under review: Gillette Silver Blue

Shave #3 with 4th Gillette Silver Blue blade. Fine BBS results, a great shave. Very close, really comfortable, no nicks, weepers, irritation or razor burn.
Two changes made: 1) as part of my preshave, I washed my face and neck with a small amount of the Proraso Sandalwood shave cream. 2) After watching Mantic59's video on lathering last night (How To Build And Apply Traditional Shaving Lather) I realized I had been working with far too much water. Today, I shook out as much water as I could, dabbed about 1/2" of shaving cream on the end of my rush and began working up the lather. I got nowhere until I dipped the tip of the brush in the water and went back to the scuttle and tried again. This time the lather was plentiful and much thicker and creamer than I've ever had before.
2 Full passes: Pass 1: WTG on my face (N/S), and XTG on my neck (N/S). Pass 2: ATG. At this point, I had a solid DFS and almost a BBS shave.
Lathered up those areas that needed touch up. I used stretching to flatten the areas out, blade buffing and j-hooking to clean them up. It took a while, but I finally caught the baby. Just goes to show that reviewing information you thought you knew can really make a difference. Mantic59's lather video really helped. So did his "Advanced Shaving Techniques" video.
A very nice shave and a fine BBS result. Tomorrow, I'll give the Lord Platinum Class a try.
I hope everyone has a great Lord’s Day

Mark, I have enjoyed following your progress this month with the Slim! I'll start out with my Slim on 3 in August, and I hope to run through the entire range much like I've done with the FB this month.

Charlie, thank you for prompting me to give the Slim another try since it was a pleasure to use. I might do a Slim focus in August as well but it will centered around trying different blades in the razor.

My guess is you will move quickly up the dial with the Slim since you are already at 9 with the Fatboy. It never fails to amaze me of the exceptional build quality of these vintage Gillette razors.

Phoenix Dbl OC Focus Day...I lost count:

    Homemade PS Oil
    VDH Boar Brush
    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    Phoenix Dbl OC
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Aqua Velva AS

Today was my first shave in a few days after getting back from family camp. I broke out the Williams for the first time, and was surprised with the performance. Since the box recommended I use Aqua Velva, I thought I should listen. It feels great to have a smooth face again.

I also swapped the handle on the Phoenix with the one from the Razorock Mission my son uses. The one weak point of this razor is the handle is light. The Mission handle is mice and heavy, and that helped the razor out a bit.

I disagree, I think this should be your first shave with your Kamasori. (The AC can only cut so deep before the handle stops the blade. No safety features with a true Kamisori.)
