Razor: Lord L6 Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock SharpEdge (Yellow package) Soap: Stirling Gin and Tonic plus M-Bomb Brush: VDH Boar Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Thayer’s Witch Hazel M-Bomb added Aftershave: TSD Signature with, yep, M-Bomb added Not my coldest Menthol Monday, but a good blast to wake me up. The 7 o'clock (Yellow) SharpEdge was just kinda eh. Some mild irritation today on its third use, but I also had a couple days growth and probably tried to hard to get ASAP -- as smooth as possible. Did end up with a DFS. Happy Monday to everyone!

SOTD 07.27.2015 Menthol Monday Prep: Shower Razor: Gillette New SC Blade: Blue Bird (2) Brush: Omega 80080 Lather: Proraso Green Shave Soap Post: Cold rinse, Witch Hazel, Proraso Green AS, Gold Bond Moisturizer Nice and chilly feeling on a cool morning. This blade did much better in a OC razor. I read somewhere that Blue Bird is just rebranded Derby Extra. I guess I'm going to have to revisit Derby Extra soon and find out if it still agrees with my face or not.
A splash of M-Bomb added to the soap puck made this morning's shave a chilly menthol experience! Have a great monday, all!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Muhle R104 (2011), Friudor Inox straight razor Blade: Astra SP (6) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Chiseled Face - Cryogen After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave Cologne: Cuir Cannage It is Menthol Monday and it is going to be a hot one. The #6 brush whipped up the Cryogen into a decent lather. The R104 and the Inox did their jobs with ease. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Cuir Cannage was a nice finish to this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
SOTD 7-27-15 Comments: Today was another straight razor only shave! I did two passes (WTG, XTG/ATG), then a cleanup type pass, which worked fine! No irritation today but I did get a small nick on the neck during the ATG pass. I will call it a nice DFS shave but I do feel a spot or two in the neck and jaw line areas that could have been closer and I probably should have hit them again before I pack it up but there is always tomorrow! . No issues with the C&E Nomad soap as it works well for me. All in all, a very good shave today but could have been better (no nick)! Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV! Thx.

Here's what I have planned for Menthol Tuesday: Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 7 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Chabrawichi 555 Cologne If this selection freeze a man's face and he can take it, then he's a Cracky Wacky Ticky Tacky Menthol Monkey just like little old me. The Gatsby facial wash is REALLY cold - in fact it's definitely colder than the Neutrogena one. Lathering up with the Glacial Obsidian soap is so easy and the menthol sensation hits hard, and I mean HARD. This soap has everything about it which I love - scent, lather, freeze, and skincare. The Gold Bond is plenty cold also and the Penguin earned that nickname for a good reason. My last outing with this Derby, then it'll be time for a change.
