Speick today. 5 seconds to load the Fuller Synthetic. Great easy, thick, lather. Personna Med Prep still in the NEW SC. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with Speick.

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Slim (3), H. Boker straight razor
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (2)
    Brush: Col Conk Pure Badger
Soap: The Body Shop - Maca Root SC
After: Home made ASB, Nivea ASB
    Cologne: Cuir Cannage

It is Friday Eve. The Maca Root SC was whipped up easily this morning by the Col Conk brush. The lather was good this morning. The Slim and the Boker did their jobs in harmony. The Nivea ASB and the Cuir Cannage were a nice finish to this Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

    • '58 Red Tip
    • Lion blade (3/4 pass); Timor blade (rest of shave)
    • Palmolive cream

The Lion blade isn't bad but it has a slight pull that, if I were blindfolded, would make me think it's a good carbon blade. It will shave just fine but if I'm in the mood for a carbon shave, I want it from a carbon blade (and the fact that it pulls like it does right out of the pack does not bode well for longevity). And 30 minutes later, I can detect a faint but noticeable sensation of abrasion on the right cheek where I used the Lion. Not sure I'll revisit these blades; carbons don't make me feel like I've been fine-grit sanded.

So I switched it out for a new Timor. This blade doesn't strike me as terribly sharp or particularly smooth...not as smooth as an Astra, say. Nothing special but quite serviceable, would use again if I had nothing else.

The Palmolive is nice but at first blush I prefer the Arko cream.

I know I'm not supposed to judge blades on the first shave, but these are my initial impressions. Vary, your mileage may.

Not the best shave but any day I can use an alcohol aftershave without much stinging instead of a lotion is a decent shave to me.

    Thursday's Shave

Prep: Hot shower w/ Grandpa's Pine Tar
    Lather: Arko Moist shave cream
    Brush: Omega 13522
    Razor: '46 - '50 Gillette Tech
    Blade: Gillette Rubie
Post: Flöid Suave, Nivea Sensitive Balm

Tried a few things out of the tour box this morning. Quick 1 pass against the grain shave. The Arko cream impressed with its rich, thick lather. The Flöid was deceptive in its scent, when on it smelled nothing like while in the bottle. And it didn't burn at all on the skin. I think I'll be ordering samples of all the Flöid scents in the near future.

    PRE SHAVE: OCCAMS ICED LIME
    RAZOR: GILLETTE BALL END TECH
    BLADE: BIG BEN
    BRUSH: FINE ANGEL HAIR SYNTHETIC
    SOAP: DAPPER DRAGON SIGNATURE
POST: VANILLA CLUBMAN/ UNREFINED SHEA BUTTER

Decent 3 pass shave today. First time with Dapper Dragon soaps and it made a slick lather and had a nice scent. The Clubman Vanilla is very sweet and paired well with the Signature soap scent. USB works well as a post shave, is natural and great for the skin. A tub will last a very long time, is inexpensive and can be found locally. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great day!!

    Shave of the night

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras bath soap Sandalwood
    Soap/cream- Mitchell’s wool fat
    Brush- Turkish No6 boar
Razor- WEBER polished head stainless steel
    Blade- Gillette silver blue (2)
Post- Cold water rinse, 2 drops of DR Harris Sandalwood with Homemade unscented mentholated aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

Second time using GSB blade, Its proving to be a very very good blade. Gets in there close and does a great job. I usually only use blade twice, but I’m thinking this blade can handle one more shave. SLIIiGHT razor burn on the right side RIGHT below the nose and I dont really recall pressing harder there.

This is a night shave hence the 2 drops of DR Harris with my homemade AS, I dont like smelling aftershave so close to bedtime.

My turkish no6 is getting better, it makes me very happy. I prefer it against my semogue 1470. HA!

MWF shaving soap… what can I say? A GREAT performer. Im getting very nice lather out of it. It got loose in the container so I just held it in my hand when loading it. I thought it would be to hard to load it in my hand but it worked pretty good =D it was the first time noticing i have made a dent in the soap hahaha it was a bit funny to see that =)

Excellent shave this evening with good equipment. The 1305 is still losing hair and after all the use this month it shouldn't be. IMO

A most delightful, frigid set-up for my Friday shave - the Glacial Lemon Chill soap is so wonderful. I must say that to this day I'm not used to these new Glacials being so easy to lather up. Rod worked very hard to improve his formula and it shows in the performance. This Lemon Chill has an awesome scent with perfect lather and more than enough menthol in it to make a polar bear want to move to Miami. The skincare of this soap is unbeatable as well. The Penguin is another favourite face-freezer of mine. The SuperMax Blue blade is doing a respectable job, so far. ;) :D

A nice weekend to everyone in advance! :)
