Comments: Today was almost exactly the same as yesterday, except for the soap used! I did two passes (WTG, XTG), then a cleanup type pass (XTG/ATG), which worked fine! No irritation or nicks!!! I do feel a couple of areas that could have been closer but I will still call it a DFS shave! No issues with the Proraso soap as it works well for me. A very good shave today!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.

    Jayaruh #12 Black Pure Badger
    Ever-Ready 1912
    Treet Super
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Florida Water

The TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #12 Black Pure Badger brush. Two passes with my Ever-Ready 1912 razor and a Treet Super blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Florida Water after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This will be my third day in a row using high quality shaving creams and I'm liking it. The Castle Forbes says "for skin prone to niks and cuts" so guess they're suggesting it's gonna improve my technique just by using it

Thank you very much! It was an excellent shave, and made me realize that I should grab the Skin Bracer more often. :)

I'm back after a super busy June and July. We moved into our new house today and are already loving the expanded options available at 3700 sf compared to our last house of 1200 sf. We have room to move and not sit on top of each other!

First shower and shave in the bathroom that doesn't need work.

This new house has a water softener system installed in the crawlspace. The lather from my Dusy Kabinett was phenomenal and super slick and quick to make. 2 passes and all is slick again.

    Prep: shower
    Lather: Dusy Kabinett
    Brush: TGN synthetic
    Razor: Weber
    Blade: Astra Superior Stainless

Yesterday we made a little hike up the Manitou Incline. 2,000 feet of vertical gain in about a mile over 1700 steps. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but we made it. I'm really proud of my wife and son. They rocked the climb!

Here is my son and I just a few minutes after we finished. He didn't look sweaty at all. Me, on the other hand...

    July 30th
    Razor - Feather SS AC
    Blade - [IMG](4)
    Brush - Omega 10066 (BoS)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Water splash, Alum, Nivea

End of the month madness. Now, if only sales would be as good as the shaves I've gotten these past few days. Next to the last day and the lather came back into line today. I do believe I had the brush too wet yesterday. Funny thing about MWF - it likes to be soaked prior to the shave but doesn't like the brush to be very wet. So I made sure to shake it a few extra times today before starting to load. Right on the money. Two passes with the Feather and no problems. WTG and XTG nice, though as always not as close as I can do with a DE yet. The ATG on the neck produced a couple of nicks as I set down slightly wrong. Still have to work on that. Overall it was a burning Alum and produced a CCS on the neck, DFS on the face. Again, good enough to head out to figure out where all the customers have gone. Too quiet for this close to EOM. Maybe they're waiting to see if I finish in one piece with this razor! Happy Full Moon!

I've done the Manitou Incline...when I was much, much, much younger. Much younger. Did I mention MUCH younger? I'm pretty sure you would just have to find a spot to bury me on the way up if I tried it now.

I'm 51 and I wish I would have done it when I was much, much younger as well. We had a 23 year old in our group who said the same thing!

    Day 24 with the Mongoose

B-3 Mongoose with Triad Rolling Hex Titanium
    Feather Kai Captain Sharp #1
    Whipped Dog Boar
    Mike’s Natural Soaps Barbershop
Witch Hazel ++Menthol, Unrefined Shea Butter
    Stirling After Shave Barber Shop
    Brooks Brothers 1818

Today’s shave was an outstanding two passes including clean up. The first shave for Kai Sharp blade was very smooth and deceptively sharp, not as forgiving as the Kai Mild. The alum sang some high notes but no blood. The Shea Butter felt especially soothing today. The Whipped Dog Boar is an excellent bowl or face lathering brush. Using my Captain’s Choice Bowl, and Mike’s Natural Soap, the WD boar cranked out a ton of creamy slick lather. Set at 30 X 53mm, it has better backbone, a denser knot and softer tips than my Omega boars. Finished off this wonderful shave with generous spritz of Stirling Barbershop Aftershave.

Wrapping up the month using my Gillette New LC

    Hot Shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Gingers Garden
    Soap: Stirling MITA
    Brush: Omega Pro 48
    Razor: Gillette New LC
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    TSD Witch Hazel
    After Shave: TSD Lime
    Mustache Wax: Dirigo Blue

Back from my Canadian island getaway. Great trip and great shaves with the Aristocrat. Thanks @NCoxSTL

Decided to use a Gillette New LC today - one of my latest acquisitions (from June - NBJ).

What a pleasant shave. 2 passes on a 2 day growth. Was going to do a 3-pass but the razor and blade cut like buttah on the first pass! So I chose to go right to a ATG second pass - so clean. A few touch ups and that was one nice shave.

First shave as well for MITA soap ( another real nice soap) and the TSD Lime matched up well as you'd expect.

Ended with my new favorite mustache wax - Dirigo Blue. Thanks @swarden43 ! 95 degrees in Seattle today. Wax held up well - even after a 30 minute soak in Lake Washington to cool off!

    Stay cool all!
    Cheers!

    Lather: Proraso White Shave Soap

Late evening shave, but was much needed after a long day.

I only remember cuts and weepers the last time I used the Asco blade.

It's not such a bad blade after all. 2 very comfortable passes and no damage around the face. :happy108:

    Homemade PS Oil
    VDH Boar Brush
    Stirling Bay Rum SS
    Phoenix Dbl OC
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Stirling Bay Rum AS

I had my first bad shave with the Phoenix this morning. It started with the first stroke when the razor didn't feel quite the same. I kept going, though. Then on my ATG pass, a weepers and couple of small nicks on the mustache. Hmm that's not good. On to the chin and another weepers. At this point, I quickly but carefully finished up. The alum and AS stung quite a bit. I figured I would dispose of the blade and see if something is different this evening. At this point, I figured out that the cap was loose on the razor. Apparently, my kids messed with the razor yesterday and loosened it up. Lessen learned: make sure everything is assembled properly before shaving.

Holy Toledo, the Glacial Lemon Chill clobbered me with a menthol punch which left me with tearing eyes and a runny nose. The Penguin almost numbed me when I slapped it on. This shave couldn't have been more enjoyable! (and silky-smooth!)
