Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam Razor - Gillette Rocket HD Blade - Personna Platinum Chrome (#3 and most definitely out for good!) Brush - Vulfix 404 handle / Omega 10810 knot Soap - Arko soap & cream / Glycerine After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix Result - BBS Thought I'd finally found the perfect partner for the chrome tonight but alas, 'twas not to be! I think I only ever had proper irritation and razor burn twice before with DE but this is *DEFINITELY it right now! I was really careful given the previous results with blade. My verdict therefore is I don't like these blades, as bad as they were the first time around so the lot will be going pronto! Finally got around to re-knotting a very kindly PIF'd Vulfix 404 with my Omega 10810. The original loft was supposed to be 50mm but it was more like 55mm. It's set at 50mm now and it's turned what was a good brush into a great brush. I'm not a face-latherer but this would be perfect I imagine. Once I've my second blade trial over, I'll be giving it a go though. *Update - worst result ever with DE, MUCH worse than my first! AGONY!!!
Razor: 60's Tech Blade: BigBen Brush: Oscar11 Marigold Soap: Tabac Post: Cold Water & Thayer's AS: Obsession for Men I think I have fallen for the 60's Tech all over again! I think Gillette really hit a home run with the handle & head combo.
Razor: Merkur 34 C Blade: Merkur Super (5) Brush: WDC-4, VIG Silvertip Butterscotch Handle, 24/67 Soap: Razo Rock Don Donato A/S: Aqua Velva Ice Blue. Great shave tonight and back to badger brushes after a 30 Boar brush focus. Have a outstanding Friday evening.
Saturday features this set-up: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 4 Arko Ice Mint SC Gold Bond Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Cream time again and something I haven't used since at least the winter. The Arko Ice Mint is the only cream from the Arko series which has a significant menthol effect. I love its scent and the rich lather it gives. Its skincare is also pretty good. The SuperMax Blue blade is starting to dull out a bit, but I'm hopeful it'll last for a few more days. I'll soon need some more Aqua Velva - luckily for me that every pharmacy around here sells it.
