    8/7/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Merkur 37C, Filarmonica Doble Temple straight razor
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (4)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

It is Menthol Monday and it is going to be another hot 90 degree day. The #6 brush whipped up the Frozen Tundra into a nice and cold lather. I have been impressed with the Super Max Blue Diamond blade that I am using. It shaves smoothly and is very much like the Astra SPs. The Osage Rub brought its arctic blast and the Aqua H2O were a nice finish to this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

    Menthol Monday

    Focus: Adjustable August

    Razor: 1958 Executive
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    Brush: Strongset
    Soap: Proraso green
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

Monday's shave was almost as close as Sunday's BBS was. Today I changed my normal adjustable shave by setting the Exec at 3 for my entire shave instead of changing settings during the shave. I was in a bit of a hurry to get to work, but still only needed 2 passes (XTG, ATG) to get a really nice DFS. The low setting required a few more touch-ups than I like (or was it the fact that the blade was on day 3?). Tomorrow I'll try a new blade and set the razor on 4 with pics! Woo hoo! LOL

I butchered myself pretty good on Saturday so I skipped Sunday. Today turned out to be a DFS! Almost BBS in spots I'd say.

    Used my new-to-me STAR razor(tech clone I'm assuming?)with a Polsilver SI(1).

I haven't had much luck with the Gillette Tech's so I was skeptical of today's shave, but have to use all my razors at least once.

Excellent results. Shaved off Saturdays scabs from the butchering but no extra bleeding today. The C&E sandalwood AS lotion is awesome. No greasy residue and silky smooth.

    Brush: Omega 80080
    Lather: Maggard London Barbershop
Post: Cold rinse, Alum, Witch Hazel, Clubman Pinaud Classic AS sample

Got lucky and found a Super Adjustable Short Handle at the flea market over the weekend for $20. Really excited to test it out from here on out!

Today was a smooth shave with some razor burn. I started at setting 3 and didn't feel like it was going to take off my stubble. Switched to setting 4 midway into my first pass and felt more comfortable.

After the 2nd pass I noticed I was getting a bit of a razor burn. I don't know if it's because I have it on a low setting and had to do more strokes or I need to turn it up next time to do less strokes.

This calls for a 30 day focus in September. :kar:
