Corvette 1965. A little tuggy today, time for a touch up honing. But The Veg made it worth the tugging.
Dorko 7/8 NOS Le pere Lucien Cedre Patchouli - didn't like this soap the first time I tried it. Just don't care for vege based soaps. I decided to give it another try and it was a lot better but mid way in the shave I added some T & H 1805 crème and bingo I had a nice ube AS- Just a soap commander balm " Love"
satinedgeTorrey Used SR 5&6 today. Found out they are both in need of a trip to the honing station. Think I may put them up and rotate in 2 4/8 blades

Keep an eye on that Satinedge my friend. The discoloration of the scales combined with the corrosion on the blade where it recesses into the scales are suspicious indications of the beginnings of cell rot. If you have this razor stored with other straights, make sure none of these are scaled in celluloid; cell rot spreads more prolifically than head lice in a third world kindergarten. Consider quarantine until you've determined if the razor is goin' south...
A good point. Once it starts, cell rot is a death knell for scales as well as blades, if left unchecked. The Satinedge on the right is already far along in the decaying process, both on the blade and tang hinge point. The scales become cloudy as well. Always sad to see on many pretty razors. Sad cell 'rot' on a Otto Deutsch...
I read a thread from @gssixgun and @45auto about the rot issue. I put the satinedge in a zip lock bag. Hope its not rot, the last satinedge I had I sent to @gssixgun and it was unable to be saved.
I think you should put on new scales, if the blade is still serviceable. Use some sandpaper and polish to clean the face of the blade. Re-hone to get rid of damaged edge.
I have seen a few Dubl Ducks rescaled in wood, with the inlays on the celluoid scales transfered to the new ones. They look pretty good.
