:happy088: Thank you. I am really enjoying this brush. It's breaking in nicely with only 3 shaves and 1 practice lather. I'll right a review after I spend some more time with it next week.

Sterling is getting a lot of free advertising on SOTD with that great new brush. I love it!:eatdrink047::bounce015::happy036:

image.jpg My second straight razor shave with my Krusius Brothers KB Extra went great. I did two full passes, WTG and XTG, then finished up with my Weber. This has to be the smoothest closest shave I've ever had. Started with a hot shower and prepped with the bloom water from the Soap Commander Courage, great stuff. Finished with the alum, almost zero feedback, then a splash of Stirling's lemon chill witch hazel and aloe.

It's been a while since I made a SOS post, and I have been a bit apprehensive about starting up.

In fact At first I was afraid I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without these threads by my side
But then I spent so many shaves
Thinking how I did this wrong
    But I grew strong
And I learned how to get my shaves along
    And now I am back
    from outer space
With light saber in hand to shave away that sad look upon my face
I should have changed my stupid ways
I should have gone for DFS..
    .

And so I did, for today's shave, using the Super Iridium blade. A blade I have found to be too rough in the past, but now is one of my top performers. Funny how that goes.

    Razor: EJ DE89
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Merkur Futur
    Soap: Fitjarsoap Telemark
    Aftershave: Kramperts Bay Rum
    I think that's it..

    SUNDAY
Late posting from an early morning shave
My fourth consecutive day shaving with this J-West Feon. I'm just now 'hitting my stride' when it comes to getting accustomed to the feel of this fine razor.
Three passes plus touch-up (no blood today, unlike yesterday's minor nick) earned me a near-BBS experience. Paired with a top-lathering soap, it made for a real pleasurable shave!

If you enjoy menthol, you'll love Gatsby. The scent is just menthol-ly. It doesn't last, so the scent won't clash with anything else you're using.

I do like the new label. I thought I saw something about a tee shirt on their Facebook page. If they come out, I will probably get one or two.

Today was my first use of the brush, and my first time using a synthetic. It was a little different for me, but it felt great. The lather was good but maybe a bit dry. The brush definitely holds water differently than one of my natural bristle brushes.

    Razor: Gillette Executive (1960)(8)
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (7)
Brush: WDC-4, Silvertip Badger, Butterscotch. (VIG) 24/67
    Cream: Lavena
Bowl: Old Spice Late Glass Mug 04, 1970's- 1992
A/S: Ship's Magic & Whitestar, Commemorative Flask, 1989-1991- The canteen shape bottle celebrates the Ship Magic, the winner of the first America's Cup race.
The Flask is full so I use a new Classic Old Spice A/S.
    Day 9
I used the razor on #8 this evening and although I got a great shave I believe #7 is my best setting. The cream I won in a PIF and I can't type the name on the tube as my keyboard doesn't have these character's. Last night for the Executive. I'll start with a Gillette Slim Adjustable tomorrow. I'll also use the same type of blade and brush to continue this focus. I'll use a different cream also as I wasn't that pleased with the Lavena. There is a Old Spice puck in the bowl, but I don't use it either.

Here's my take on the Feather AS-D2. The machining is first-rate. The blade is held securely in all four corners - tightly. The weight is hefty, but comfortable. The shave is ultra-smooth. I can buff easily. Some people complain that the razor is too mild; and if you have a really thick, tough beard, I can see their point. But for the average face, the AS-D2 will provide you with a BBS shave daily and it is easily the finest DE razor produced today. IMO.
The Bay Rum is a glass bottle.
    Thanks for the compliments.
