    30 day Focus - Day 9
    MDC Lavender Face Lathered
Rapira Platinum Lux Blade (Day 1 on blade, Day 3 on Rapira Platinum Lux)
    Slim Adjustable set to 8
    3 passes

Yesterday's shave didn't last as long as I had hoped it would. But, it was still a fine shave. The more I use MDC, the more I like it.

    8/10/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Muhle R41 (2011), Friodur Inox straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Chiseled Face - Cryogen
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Midnight In Paris

It is Menthol Monday!! The #6 brush did a good job whipping the Cryogen soap into a nice freezing lather. The R41 with the Astra blade seemed a little rough this morning, but definitely did a good job. The Friodur was smooth as usual. The Osage Rub could barely be felt when applied because the Cryogen had my chin frozen like a Popsicle. The Midnight In Paris was a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave +.

    Have a blessed day!

Another smooth, efficient shave with the Feon. Twenty laps on the strop, good slick lather and three passes make for a great shave to start the week!

30 Day Rule - Phoenix OC

    image.jpg

    Phoenix Double OC
    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic
    La Toja Shave Stick
    Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1 & 2)
    Alum
    Osage Rub
Today is day ten of my rule, and I am enjoying this much very much. The Phoenix is an extremely mild yet efficient razor, and delivers great shaves with the Rapira. It looks like this razor is a keeper. This is my month month straight of OC, and I am impressed. The La Toja is working well with my skin and I enjoy the lather and skincare very much. And since it's Monday on SOTD, I will finish with the Osage Rub.

    Have a sterling Monday!
    :)

image.jpg Razor: Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts)
    Brush: Vintage Ever-Ready 675 badger
Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 02) 1964 – 1978
Cream/soap: Seifenglatt Shave Soap Barber Shop
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1973 glass cologne Stopper #4

The Goodwill shaves me like my LC and like the LC you have to watch the angles, for a smooth shave. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. The Ever-Ready brush has the originally knot and loaded the Seifenglatt with no problem and whipped up a nice lather in no time. Got a nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup and a shower, some JB balm. Finished up with some Vintage Old Spice from the 1973. The Spice is nice....the sweetest Taboo....

Nice Mug! It's a Old Spice (early glass Mug 06) 1961 - 1964 First Mug with a taper last without a lip on top. From one Old Spice junkie to another:eatdrink047:

60 yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 13 AC*)

30-Day Focus - Gillette Slim Adjustable

    Morning shave.
    Hot Shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Gingers Garden
Soap: Catie's Bubbles Mile High Menthol
    Brush: Omega 31025 Scarlatti (Boar)
    Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
    TSD Witch Hazel
    TSD Aftershave Milk: Iced Subzero
    A/S: TSD Lemon (M-Bombed!)

    Slim settings:
    8 - WTG
    8 - ATG
No touch-up or repeat strokes. This is as much about technique as it is about finding the best settings on this razor for me.
    Groucho.JPG
I purposely skipped a shave on Saturday so I could see how the Slim and GSB handled the extra growth. Was not disappointed! My shaves on Sunday and today were excellent. Very excited! Technique, technique, technique!

(Caveat: I must disclose that I shave with a high handicap in that my mustache and small goatee allows me to skip the tough to maneuver spots that most of you have to slog through. However, with the canvas I have available to me, I’m really happy with this progress!)

My objective of this 30-day Focus on the Slim (and with any Focus I do on any other razor) will be to see which razor/blade combination will give the most consistently reliable, closest shave. I will probably go to a 9 on the second pass tomorrow.

    Cheers!

    Prep: Shower
    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (2)
    Brush: Omega 10083
Lather: Real Shaving Co Sensitive Shave Cream
Post: Cold rinse, Alum, Witch Hazel, Gold Bond Moisturizer

Wanted to revisit this cream and give it another chance with this heavy duty boar brush.

Pleasant 2 passes. Don't care much for the synthetic smell of the cream but it performed great. Will keep it in my rotation. Same goes for the Wilkinsons. :happy088:

Comments: Had a two day growth and the Wolfman took it off like nobody's business in two passes plus a little clean up. The Tiki soap was very good and my first time using it. It lathered easy and gave me a great slick protective shave and the scent was pleasant and not too strong which I like! I did get a very good shave today and my usual DFS shave! No irritation but I did get one small weeper!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.
