Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Muhle R101 (2011), H. Boker straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (4)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: RazoRock - Don Donato
After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm
    Cologne: Midnight In Paris

The #6 brush had no problem whipping the Don Donato into a nice and slick lather. The R101 and the Boker did a fine job getting rid of the stubble this morning. The Nivea ASB and the Midnight In Paris were a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

    Razor: Gillette British Rocket
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue
    Brush: Omega 10098 Boar
    Lather: Klar Kabinett
Post: Alum. Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate

My shave yesterday with MdC was so good I forgot to put on the aftershave.
This Gillette British Rocket is a fantastic razor, I think you'd be hard pressed to nick yourself. New brush alert! Omega 10098. Love the feel in my hand, whipped up a pile of Klar in no time.
    Go out and get it.

A little bit rough and something new
Yesterday I got superb results from using the Fatboy on 9 for all three passes, so I decided to try and duplicate that today - ouch! A few small weepers plus an angry neck remind me that my face cannot take such high settings on consecutive days. If I use other razors or dial down the FB for a day or two, then 9 is amazing. I just don't get as good a shave dialed down, at least so far. I am going to try an use the FB at lower settings for a while to compare its performance to when I use it on nine.

Today was also my first time using Pinaud Clubman as an aftershave. I got it yesterday on a whim from a local drugstore and liked the scent. Due to the rough shave today, Clubman was quite the stinger, and I used CRSW Jd'O balm to help put out the fire. After the drama has died down, it is a very close shave and my skin feels smooth.

    Prep: Van Yulay PSO
Soap: Cold River Soap Works Jardin d'Orange
    Brush: HIS XL Lather Monster
    Razor: 1959 Gillette Fatboy 9-9-7
    Blade: Voskhod (2)
AS: Pinaud Clubman; CRSW Jd'O balm

    WEDNESDAY
Seventh and final consecutive day using this Takehana FEON. Near-perfect 3-pass shave this morning, with the MdC providing the glide. Close to BBS as I wished to get.
Thanks, Mike @entropy1049 for sharing the pleasure of this fine J-West razor!
Have a happy Hump Day, all!

image.jpg Razor: Gillette New LC Bar Handle 1930s Big Boy wood case
Brush: Fuller Amber Badger 1920s -1940s
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Another good shave with the LC. It's milder than the SC, which I like. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. Looks good and I'm really liking this razor. Whipped up some TH 10 in the OS Mug. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. No buffing today to give my face a rest. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB balm. Finished up with some Nice Bay Rum. Ready to Rock! ......

Very nice Old Spice mug! It's either a Mug 01 or 02 from late 1940s. It's an 02 if it has ribs on the inside. Cool!:eatdrink047:

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss glycerin soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Pinaud Clubman

I had a couple of days' stubble to tackle this AM, but had confidence in my tools. The lather was easy to whip up, the razor was sure in my hands, and the Bic was very smooth on its second day. My 3rd pass did produce a mystery red spot - 'mystery' because I couldn't find the weeper visually - but it was apparently closed by the cold water splash. The alum produced no sting; the witch hazel produced no sting; the aftershave, now THAT produced a surprising little sting. DFS+ results otherwise.

Love the Origional Shulton Old Spice Lime. It's my favorite Old spice scent. That bottle is from 1966 to early 70s, nice:eatdrink047:

I'm with you on the Maca Root, great cream, and one of the few I can source locally. Oh, and 40 is the new 20. I learned to slalom ski on my 40th, a couple of years ago.:happy068:

I hadn't shaved in a couple of days because I tore my hands up at the gym but I had to man up today because I couldn't take it anymore. I think my tub of grapefruit is starting to go bad (it's a couple months over 2 years old) because it had a bit of an "off" smell. Or maybe that was just the brush because it's still not yet broken in.

As an aside: I finally have some time to bring back my soundtrack of the shave. Man, it's nice to be able to relax a bit.

Used my ESKU slant this morning for the first time. Very impressed - clean, smooth and all I really needed was one pass.
Normally I'm not too big on slants but I have to say this one surprised me.

    Gear:
    Razor: Esku slant
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock
    Brush: L'Occitane Plisson
    Soap: Provence Sante (great soap)
    A/S: Myrsol Plastic Shave

I really am enjoying it as well. It's a brighter, less stodgy "old spice" scent. There are quite a few of these on ebay at the moment...not inexpensive, I might add.
