I can't remember a time that that hasn't been around.
sat on my grandad's dresser, after he passed(45 years ago). it stayed there till Nan passed. my mom gave it to me prolly around 1980. Sat on my dresser most of that time. been back performing its intended purpose almost two years now.

    Day 13
Turned the Slim up to #7 tonight and it worked very well. Got a close comfortable 3 pass shave. Used the Fine Platinum Splash for the first time this evening and was pleasantly surprised. A fellow member suggested it to me and I'm happy I took his recommendation. Adjustable August is going very well and I'm working with creams also.

:DFriday's bone-chilling cold shave will be done this way:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Personna day 5

    Old Spice Cologne

Since I placed another big Stirling order, especially for more Glacial stuff I might as well go to town starting for this shave. The Obsidian soap has everything I love - an awesome black liquorice scent, kick-ass lather, two boatloads of menthol, and WONDERFUL skincare which makes the end of a shave feel so good. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel are the two coldest products I ever used after shaving, and are they ever soothing and comforting. My man Rod is a genius! ;) :D

A great weekend to everyone in advance! :)

This Omega 10098 is stiff, it was like shaving with a paint brush. But I probably had some of the best lather from Klar using it.

    Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip
    Gem Featherweight
    Treet Super SE
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gem Jr Parade razor and a Treet Super SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    This morning's shave 8-13-15:
Hot Shower prep with Neutrogena for Men Invigorating Face Wash and for Art of Shaving Sandalwood for the other areas
Razor - Birth Year Slim Adjustable (3)
    Blade - Ladas (1)
    Brush - Parker Best Badger
    Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain
    Bowl - Fine Lather
Warm rinse, Maggard alum block then cool rinse
Finished up with my favorite Lucky Tiger AS & Face Tonic

Looks like I will need to do some practice lathers with the Stirling's. The lather dissipated pretty quick but still managed a two pass work day shave.

That is another reason I like the things we use to shave with. There is so much history and feelings that are tied into our daily shave. Old Spice reminds me of my Dad every time I shave. :eatdrink047:

Stirling really does make the best of like, EVERYTHING! LOL
The top soap in my rotation is Stirling, and I use only Stirling bath soap and AS balm, as no other will do. I have yet to try the AS splash or buy a brush. But soon......very soon. You hear me Rod?!?! <maniacal laugh>

On a more serious note, lol, I am also a convert to Voskhod blades. I got a few packs in a PiF (thanks again to @Redrock ), and they just work so well, I haven't been able to use any of my other favorites since.

    Anywho, welsome to SotD. :signs046:

That is awesome to have something like that passed down. It is funny, both of my grandfathers are pack rats, but neither one kept any of their old shave stuff. My dad gave up his old DE while I was an infant, so all shaving heirlooms are gone from my family. I'll just have to start collecting some for kids. ;)

    The mug looks great!
