A really, really good shave this morning with the Daveso Garanti. Some musings about it here.

Gear:
Razor: Daveso Garanti, dual-comb head razor
Blade: Voskhod
Brush: L'Occitane Plisson
Soap: i Coloniali Mango
A/S: Soap Commander Endurance (so hot here in the city I went for one of the few things I own that have menthol in it....)

Shave of the evening

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras bath soap Sandalwood
Soap/cream- TIKI set sail shaving soap
REPLACED WITH Proraso oat and green tea shaving soap
Brush- Turkish no6 boar
Razor- WEBER polished head stainless steel
Blade- Big Ben REPLACED WITH Gillette Silver Blue
Post- Cold water rinse, Unscented Homemade mentholated aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

Tiki burned me, replaced with Proraso white to continue the shave. It's a great soap, I MUST have it.

Big Ben is no good for me, whipped out a GSB =)

It's an evening shave so no scent.

 

I've had soaps burn my face as well. It would be a good idea to revisit the product a little bit down the road and see if it has the same effect. especially if the performance is good.

 

Two things. Love the bullet! Second, I'm not a straight-edge guy, but reading "slicing" and looking at that blade makes me cringe.
Guess it's all a learning curve. Good luck on your next attempt.

The thing is, that's what I did. I took a break 3 months maybe more. I guess it just doesn't like my skin =( it's a good soap. But irritation is irritation

 

well at least you tried. I had a similar experience with Soap Smooth's Bryuere. The scent is incredible and the performance was great but it felt like my face was melting under the lather. lol. Tried again and got the same results. Sometimes the fragrance oils don't do well with certain people which is why samples are a great.

 

It could be the particular fragrance oils in that specific soap. Others from Tiki may work better for you, if you like the performance of the soap (which I do).

 

Do you think so? because the performance was really good, but its the burning. I would be afraid to get another one and get the same reaction

 

I think you can get samples of their soaps. If you like how the soap performs, you might see about a couple of samples of some other scents to see if they work better for you.

 

I approached Amanda a while back and I wanted to find out what inside the soap that might be giving me the irritation. She offered to send me samples, I said thank you but no thank you. I wasn't asking her to get free stuff, I was just curious =) But that costumer service though, TOP NOTCH

 

Maybe you can take her up on it now!
