SOTD - 17 August 2015 30 Day Rule - Phoenix OC Phoenix OC Rapira Swedish Supersteel L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic La Toja Shave Stick Alum Pinaud Clubman Just the usual synthetic-lathered shave stick goodness for the 2 pass automatic smoothness. Alum was quiet, and the Clubman was Clubman. Saw a funnel cloud today. It rained too! Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a terrific Tuesday!
Wow! Way to treat yourself on your birthday! Sounds like a dream. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the day Don!
Good morning. I had a whole lot of rosie going on yesterday, so I picked out the Klar Kabinett soap for my evening shave and the rose scented Witch Hazel from Thayers as my aftershave of choice. I like Klar Kabinett, unfortunately Klar Kabinett does not like me and can have a nasty temper. Yesterday did found the soap to be in a foul mood and it made my face sting a little. It has given me worse, and this one time at shave camp, my face looked like I had the small pox after a shave with the Klar. It really is too bad, not just for the performance itself, but also because I have almost a kilo of the stuff I also wanted to test the vintage Gillette Super Stainless in my EJ89 razor, and it shaved like a champ. This has been so far a most satisfying blade, and I look forward to try it in my Merkur 34c next time. Razor: Edwin Jagger de89l Blade: Gillette Super Stainless Brush: Semogue 1305 Soap: Klar Kabinett Aftershave: Thayers Witch Hazel
Bonjour Messieurs, This morning : - homemade soap from a French forum member - Epsilon Horsehaire brush - Leresche "Levier Lame Mobile" straight - Gibbs 9 DE for touch-ups - AS Le Prince Barbu "Bay Rum" Not too bad ! Bonne journée Messieurs
After this great shave my face feels like it has a built-in air conditioner. The Glacial Obsidian soap's rich, slick lather went on absolutely FRIGID and the Glacial Wintergreen balm, together with the Rubby Dubby Doo provided tons of extra menthol freezing. I feel grand!

Summer is over Staff week starts today and the kids begin next week. The shave was good, not great. This blade is a dud. My neck is a bit tender but smooth.
30 day Focus - Day 17 MDC Lavender Face Lathered Rapira Stainless Blade (Day 1 on blade, Day 5 on Rapira Stainless) Slim Adjustable set to 8 3 passes Another day, another shave. I am surprised at how little difference the blade makes when everything else stays the same. Yes, I know that some blades are better than others, but I have also come to know that the technique used seems to have a far greater affect on the shave than the tool.

TUESDAY Back-to-Work Day My first shave off the hones with this near-wedge Wostenholm. The heavy blade took a killer edge and the payoff was a silent, smooth shaving experience. Shaving with a thicker grind versus a half or full-hollow blade is dramatically different in 'face feel.' The blade just quietly plows through the lather (no feeling of flex or resistance) and requires no hesitation (or light touch) by the user. Super-smooth, BBS-quality results. A great initial shave with this old razor! Have a great Toozday, all!
