1. Preshave: nothing
    Razor: Gillette Old Type
    Brush: Semogue 1438
    Blade: Kai Stainless Steel
Soap: Proraso Green in a tub
Aftershave: Nivia Sensitive Post Shave Balm

I was running behind today so I skipped my preshave and made due with just a 2 pass shave. I wacked off a bump on my neck that I didn't feel but other then that no irritation. I am falling in love with my Old Type. Its still not my favorite but its quickly becoming my go to multiple days growth razor. The Kai blade is also very nice. this makes 2 very good shaves with the blade so I'm hoping I can get at least one more out of it. The Semogue has knocked my old peerless brush out of my top slot. I love the firm yet soft feel of it. I have also no had any issues with hair loss or tangling with this brush. The smell of strong pig butt only stuck around until I lathered the brush up and let it dry, the next day after I rinsed it out it smelled only of sandalwood Proraso. All said a very fine shave for the circumstances.
  2. The Glacial Spearmint soap felt so frigid that it was borderline painful. (in a great way, of course!) The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel froze holy hell out of my face as well. What a delightful shave!
  3. Smooth but dicey
I used a Gillette 7 o'clock yellow blade today for the first time in a long while. I find them sharp but less forgiving than Voskhod. Today was no exception, as I got a nice smooth shave, but it felt more edgy as it happened.
CRSW is a legitimate contender for my favorite, already earning its way easily into my top three. Thick creamy lather with amazing post shave combined with complex scent. The balm has the same scent and helps to soften and comfort my skin.

  6. Schick G4 razor
    Personna blade
    Lea Shave Stick
    WD Silver Tip brush
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Skin Bracer A/S

The Lea Shave Stick is easy to use and makes a quite decent lather. It just doesn't do anything for me, kinda uninspiring. Still, got a fine shave and ready to go
  7. I agree. I love the soaps, and Rod has always been a pleasure to deal with. I like seeing the small companies succeed. I am glad my wife likes the bath soaps as it makes it easier to purchase more.

  10. 30 day Focus - Day 18
MDC Lavender Face Lathered w/ Stirling Glacial Obsidian
Rapira Stainless Blade (Day 2 on blade, Day 6 on Rapira Stainless)
    Slim Adjustable set to 8
    3 passes

Today's shave finished my use of the Rapira Stainless for this 30 day focus. I will be moving to the Rapira Swedish Stainless tomorrow. The Glacial Obsidian always makes my face feel as if it has a BBS shave, even when I have done a lousy job. I can see how someone could get hooked on menthol.
  11. WEDNESDAY
    Another day, another Wostenholm blade….
This one is of comparable size to yesterday's big blade, but unlike that wedge, this one is full hollow grind.
Difference? Both in feel and audible feedback. This razor is a noise maker, requiring only a very light touch. Both provide extremely smooth shaves.
Two different paths io achieve the same goal: darn near-BBS in three passes.
    Have a great Wednesday, all!

    Lather – MdC Fougere
Post - Witch Hazel and Fine Platinum

Another very good 3 pass work morning shave. The MdC proved very easy to lather. I've found the soap could almost be lathered with a dry brush but to achieve a really slick lather it takes a good bit of water. I'm convinced many stop adding water before the lather is completely hydrated. Finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum and I'm ready for Wednesday.

Welcome to Wool Fat Wednesday! The #6 brush did a great job turning the MWF into a wonderful lather. The Black Tip was mild and "The Hornet" sliced the stubble with ease. The AV and the Gravity were a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave +.
