1. My Schick Krona showed up in the mail today. I think it cleaned up pretty good.
Just some minor water spotting, otherwise it is mint.

  2. Was out hunting in the wild today and picked up a Super Speed Made in England date stamped W2 for $15 at a local antique store. Its in good shape...mechanics work fine...just needs a bit of TLC and a bubble bath and a scrub-a-dub-dub with a toothbrush and some toothpaste. . I think it is a 51? Can anyone confirm?

  3. Confirm.

  4. I would avoid anything that abrasive, it could take off the plating. Try Scrubbing Bubbles (the kind without bleach). Spray it on, let sit for 5 minutes or so, then scrub with an old toothbrush and rinse with water. Repeat as many times as needed, should get it nice and clean.

  5. I'm not sure, maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

  9. I went out and purchased some Scrubbing Bubbles and it worked wonders. In fact I gave all my razors a quick scrub and now they all shine!
  10. Finally found a Brummel-Werk, Beau-Brummel 35 at a local antique mall.

  13. They're very nice shavers, very similar feel to the Dubl Ducks and other cousins.

  14. In Soviet Russia...you need adjustable face, not razor.
  15. Do you solemnly swear to henceforth be sure to use exclusively shiny, well conceived, finely appointed shavettes?

    Promise?

  16. That stuff is like magic fairy dust for DE & SE razor restorations.

Works pretty good on toilets, sinks and showers too.

  17. Don't put it in water or feed it after midnight, either....

  19. A very good day yesterday hitting a few antique stores I've never visited. I stopped at four different shops and passed three others by (for lack of time) so I'll need to make a return trip.
First up are a couple of razors. A 1958 (D4) FatBoy for $5 and a 1958 (D1) RedTip for $10. The FatBoy came in a plastic box that was for a different model razor and there were a few vintage blades included. The RedTip came in very worn box that appears to be for a razor that predates the RedTip. I've already got nice examples of each of these but the prices were too good to pass up plus the RedTip is in slightly better condition than the one I currently use.

A couple of Old Spice mugs (yeah, I need more). A very faded American Glass Early 02 (three rib) for $2 and an American Glass Early 03 for $7. The 03 came with a couple of tired brushes (not pictured) that I didn't need but it was a package deal. Okay, so I don't need more mugs but again; like the razors, the prices were too good to pass up. I left several razors and at least one mug behind because they were priced too high. One particular vendor had at least a dozen vintage SE's (EverReady's, Gem's, etc.) but he had them all priced at about four times what I would pay. (I don't know why, but apparently I feel like I need to explain and justify my addiction like I'm the only one with a problem)

And then this little gem. A 1952-55 Old Spice deodorant stick container in excellent condition. I didn't realize until I got home and did some research that this is the first version of a deodorant stick container so I'm pretty excited to have it. It was marked $3.50 but the vendor had a sign noting everything in their booth was 20% off so it set me back $2.80.

  20. And one more item:
A Schick C1 in pretty decent shape for $33.25 (my high dollar purchase of the day). All the parts are there and everything works smoothly so I just need to clean it up a bit.
