Just came he from a benefit auction for my nephew who has cancer. What a wonderfully yet surreal time. I picked up a home made peach pie for $75. Plan on bringing it to work with some vanilla ice cream for my partner and I. Did I mention he is on low carb diet...well there is always the guilt trip I can play so he will have some.

I decided to post this here, rather than SOD, b/c I have a confession to make! gasp! I've been cheating on you while on vacation! (double gasp, dramatic music, thunder lightning). Now, now, don't get your feathers all in a ruffle. I went with the easy shave solution so as to reduce gear to pack and b/c I never get a good trad shave while on vacation. No shower shaving, you see.

Anyhow, this week's set up has been: The Dorco Pace 3 system razor (my review is over here ) and Tend Skin Air Shave shaving gel.

The Pace 3 you can read about in my review, but the shave gel really deserves a mention. You can find it on amazon, drugstore com, etc. and it comes in 3 or 4 different sizes. Less than a dime sized dollop (after wetting your face) is plenty for a two pass shave without having to reapply in between. And boy is this stuff slick! A two-pass shave is sufficient to get good results with the Pace 3 and the Air Shave Gel leaves my face feeling nice. No special prep performed other than wet my face with a good splash of warm water.

Of note, this is a blue-ish gel that goes on clear and does not lather. I generally don't like "goes on clear" and "does not lather" b/c it's one less way to track where I've already shaved. But, in this case, I'll make an exception.

    Guilt is a powerful motivator.

It's also important to keep things in perspective. You can be a low-carb fanatic but you shouldn't turn down a piece of birthday cake at a child's birthday party, etc. You need to be willing to make exceptions for important events.
