The Lea Menthol cream is fabulous - a very nice scent, wonderful scent and really cooling. It performed great for me and so did my Super Speed/Derby combination. The Penguin gave me a most enjoyable menthol wallop afterwards.
Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam Razor - Gillette Thin Handle Tech Blade - Bic Chrome Platinum Brush - Omega 20106 Soap - Palmolive / Glycerine After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix Result - BBS Still on the second round of blade trials. First time around I despised the Bic, they had tugged worse than any other. This time there was a marked improvement, no tugging at all. Downside was the irritation it caused me, which wasn't apparent during the shave. It was only after splashing the Alum & WH Mix on that I noticed below my chin and down to my Adam's apple had suffered razor burn. Consequently, I decided to bin the blade after this one shave. There are many other blades that are much better. The razor was new to me this week. It's Fat Handled sibling is my favourite DE so I really wanted to try this, it hasn't disappointed. Been quite a while since I used Palmolive but it really is a proper bargain.

August Focus - Slim and Feather AC August 25 Razor - Schick Krona Blade - (2) Brush - Vie Long 12601 Soap - Tabac Post - Cold water, Alum, Nivea Original Post Shave Yes, I know, it's Slim and Feather AC month but I decided to take a day and try out the Schick Krona I just received. Too tempting sitting there not to try out. This razor has a mild reputation so I loaded the Voskhod from the Mladost II trial on Sunday and got down to shaving. Chose the pony for the brush, Tabac for the soap and now I have a problem. Yesterday I decided the Omega 10066 and MWF was the perfect soap/brush combination. Today I'm not so sure. Great lather and feel from the pony today. Once I start lathering and feel that extra scritchiness my left leg starts shaking and kicking. Throw me a treat cause I'm a happy camper. Did a typical three pass shave with the Krona and it is a nice razor. It is mild, I will say that. While the Voskhod did very well I'm thinking a Feather or Kai might be a better choice for this razor. I think it could turn an extra sharp blade into a really nice shave. The Voskhod performed very well in it, though, although after lathering for the second pass I noticed a spot of blood on the right cheek. The area that I repeatedly butchered this month seems quite susceptible to weepers. Nothing major at all as it disappeared after the XTG pass. Did a full third pass, XTG neck, ATG face and finished the neck with a Gillette Slide, well I guess Krona Slide in this case. Finished with a nice DFS and no major burn from the Alum. I can see why people like the Krona and I plan to keep it in rotation. Next time probably a Feather just to see the difference. Off to buy SWMBO breakfast and then working a half day today. End of the month and all that. Hope your weather is as nice as ours!
Tyr's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Lather: Stirling Glacial Obsidian soap Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3) Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (7, 8, 9) Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's witch hazel, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash Cologne: Burberry Brit I just wasn't up for shaving on Monday, so I made this 'Menthol Tuesday' to make up for it. The Stirling was, relatively, easy to lather, but still doesn't provide as much cushion as I prefer, even if the slickness and post-shave care are good. The Bic is still going strong, with no issues and a remarkably smooth performance. I even remembered to forego the Bloc Osma alum because I was reaching for the Metilsol today. Nearly BBS results without bloodshed makes this a good shave.
Razor: Gillette 85 Super Adjustable "Black Beauty” (p2) 1970 named “The Black Pearl” (5) Brush: Stirling Synthetic 26/63 2015 Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: Jack Black cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1973 - 1975 Blue Ship Decanter AS "The Black Pearl" is out for a sail today, with a salty crew. The Stirling whipped the Jack Black into submission, I mean a frothy lather. The Pearl is set on 5 for the first salvo against the treacherous whiskers that have invaded my face. The second salvo vanquished the scurvy dogs to Davy Joneses Locker. Smooth sailing and steady as she goes with a little touchup on the right side of my neck. The weight of the head on the Pearl does all the work, as it sails through the rough sea. A splash of Witch Juice, some Jack Black Balm, Jaaack......, and then some Old Spice for the wenches. Off to some uncharted waters to plunder, and pillage. Have a good one you salty dog. Arrrrrh!
Déjà Vu all over again! You can take you hand off the 'Post' button now. You must still be on Paris time.
