Wednesday's Dove Men Face Wash Mitchell's Wool Fat Jayaruh #18 Silver Tip Gem Push-button GEM Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Pinaud Clubman The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #18 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gem Push-button razor and a GEM Stainless SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
August 25 Gillette Slim G3 (9) Feather blade (2) Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic Trumper's Coconut cream Two passes Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, Trumper's Coral Skin Food This is my first SOTD post since returning from an Alaskan cruise with my Bride. So far this month, I have shaved with the Slim set on 3, 5 and 7. For the final week of August, I have the Slim set to 9. My vacation shaves were neither as relaxing nor as good as my shaves at home. It seems that we were always rushing to get out and see the beautiful sights (or eat again ). Due to packing limitations, I used a minimal set up, which included the Slim loaded with a Feather blade, my E.J. synthetic brush, and Trumper's cream. Pre-shave was liquid shower soap, and post-shave was CeraVe lotion. I left all my other foofoo pre- and post-shave products at home. So far, the shaves with the Slim on a setting of 7 have been the best overall. My opinion may change this week, as I'm back in the comforts of my own Den. On the plus side, I'm getting significantly better results with the E.J. synthetic brush using the good advice that I've received from Clint...add water to the knot slowly and take more time building the lather. In order for me to get the same results, a synthetic brush requires more patience and effort than a boar or badger brush. I hope you all are having a great week!

Wednesday morning's bone-chilling shave: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 3 Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill SS Stirling Glacial Wintergreen AS Balm Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH YSL Pour Homme EdT It takes a really hard-core menthol maniac (like myself!) to shave with this kind of set-up because we're talking about some very serious, major freezing which can wreak havoc on somebody whose skin cannot tolerate anything so intense. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap's lather is so rich, easy-to-create, so stable as well as so bitterly-cold with a most delightful scent and such great protection against dryness or irritation. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel can out-freeze even the Rubby Dubby Doo or the Penguin. My Super Speed/Derby combination always deliver on the closeness, smoothness, and comfort.

The Voskhod always seems super smooth and is plenty sharp for me. Very nice shave today.
OMG, cold is not the word after this great shave - it's seriously FRIGID. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap delivered a ton of lather and a freeze which could give a polar bear pneumonia. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel added two tons of additional iciness and perfect skincare!
