I'm a big fan of DR Harris Windsor. I also like the Marlborough scent. Have you tried any other DR Harris soaps?
Menthol Monday shave. Being that it's SE September I reached for my lather catcher. I've never had a good shave with it. I really only keep it because I love the look of it. I'm glad I did as I had a wonderful shave with it today. Usually I'm a bit worried when I use it as it doesn't look the safest razor in the world. I just wish I could get the second part of the handle it would be even easier to use. Looking forward to using it again tomorrow. Razor - Lather Catcher Blade - Gem Pre shave - Proraso Green Lather - Proraso Green Brush - Plisson synthetic Aftershave - Nivea Cooling Balm

7sep15 Today's shave was not laborsom at all. My first use of the Black Beauty(5). Gillette 7o'clock SS(1). Just a couple nicks(no blood) on my throat/neck, but overall another nice smooth pleasurable shave.

MONDAY Labor Day shave Late morning shave (for me!). Smooth results from the Big Wosty; 3-passes and near BBS! Have a blessed Monday, all!
T&H PSO T&H Lavender Cream Savile Row 3184 OCMM/GEM SS (5) AOS After Shave Balm Working on learning the ways of the OCMM. Second consecutive shave with it - fourth overall. No nicks, a few reopened small cuts from yesterday and no irritation. When I can feel the top of the contoured head gliding against my skin and hear it cutting my stubble at the same time I know I have the angle right. Now, if I can just do that consistently and then automatically...
Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech NDC (nickel plated triangle slots 1938-45) Brush: Erskine Badger 1947 Birth Year Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: TOBS Grapefruit cream Blade: Feather (1) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, 4711 cologne The TOBS whipped up nicely with the Badger. The Gillette Tech is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm and then some 4711 cologne. Nice shave with this Tech. It's a little more aggressive than my post war Tech razors, but still mild. Y'all have a good one!

September 7, 2015 - Labor Day - SOTD 60 yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 17 AC*) Single-Edge SEptember Injectors and perhaps a GEM This month marks my first shaves with injectors. In the first week of SEptember I had 6 great shaves with Schick injectors: a J3 "Golden 500"; an I2 - another hydro-magic Schick; and a G series. All gave excellent shaves and cause me to want to assess them again during a longer time period someday soon. Next up is a Canadian-made Schick believed to be an E series (E2) and on the more aggressive side than my first three. Mid-morning shave, with two-day growth. Hot Shower Soap: Proraso Green Brush: Omega Pro 48 Razor: Schick Type E - Canada Blade: Schick Injector (China) (1) TSD Witch Hazel Aftershave Cream: Proraso After Shave: Proraso Green I was a bit apprehensive stepping up to the plate for this one as I was warned that I'm about to move towards the higher aggressiveness scale for Schick injectors. Evidently, the week I just spent with some of the milder versions prepared me well for today. The first pass did a decent (not stellar) job of whisker reduction, but the second (ATG) pass and a minor touch-up, left me smooth with a great shave, similar or better than all the injectors I've done this month. This is such a beautiful, handsome razor (thanks @Omaney )that I'm going to spend a full week with it and get to see how I can improve the experience. I know, I said I just got a great shave, but I'm gonna experiment to try and realize it's full potential. Hope you're all having a great Labor Day weekend - brought to you by the folks who established weekends! Cheers! RT *AC = After Carts
