image.jpg Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3) (original case and blade pack with instructions)
    Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, Jack Black balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1980 glass AS (gift from my father in law)
Whipped up the Truefitt&Hill No 10 in a minute with the Silvertip. Nice slick cushion and I really like the scent. I really like the slim and next to my FB it is my go to razor. The heavy handle and head gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure with a Feather blade set on 5. WTG and XTG on my face and neck. Then ATG set on 3. Very smooth. The Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera felt good on my face and that natural scent was nice and fresh. After cleaning my razor and a little spray of isopropyl alcohol, I smoothed on some Jack Black, and then some vintage Old Spice, from 1980, ahhhh. Y'all have a good one!

Still focused on the OCMM. Got a BBS today but with a small price - a number of tiny cuts and a face that wasn't too happy about meeting the alum block. I like it close but maybe not quite that close. :scared001:

    The Crazy Ivan in SEptember!

    Razor - Schick E2 Injector
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Brush - Vie-Long 12601, The Pony
    Soap - Proraso Green Tub
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea

Back to three days of SEptember. Wow, time flies when you have to keep up with the Crazy Ivan. Russians are some crazy people I tell you! Anyway, time for the Schick E2 Injector, made between 1935-45. This will be my first shave with an injector in about 40 years and the first one with an injector older than I am. We'll see if the injector can give me as good a shave as the Gem last week.

The Pony and Proraso were a great combination. Let's see, I have the BoSFat for the Omega and MWF....maybe the PRoasPo for this setup? PoProaso? ProPony? But, I digress. Great lather and time to shave so enough fooling around. First pass was good. Better than good. Much better than good. As with the Gem I was quite surprised and very happy with the result. Near DFS on the first pass and I only missed it because I went light on my neck. Lathered again and...........dropped the razor. I shave in the shower so when I reached for it on the rack under the mirror it slipped. Smaller handle than I'm used to and bakelite to boot. Jumped out of the way as it fell, picked it up and relathered. Yeah, running around in the shower tends to wash the lather off. So, lathered up again, picked up the razor and made sure of the grip and went for XTG. Very nice feel and finish. Went Gillette Slide on the neck, well sorry, Schick Slide and finished with a very near BBS. It may be a BBS actually I'm just not generous enough to call it.

No need for a third pass so off we go to the alum. Just a hint of a bite on the neck. Extremely nice shave and finish and the Nivea was nice and cool and all I need today. No wonder I liked injectors when I started shaving. What a great shave and one that I'll revisit in the future.

On a side note, the Schick Injector blades are made in China. I find it interesting that the blade is very high quality and performs beautifully while the local Chinese DE blades are, to be honest, worse than Yak dung. Apparently as long as foreign companies are in control of QC, or at least giving them the specs, the Chinese manufacturers are able to produce some very high quality products. Left to their own devices? Yeah, here comes the Yak again. Watch where you step. Kudos, though, to the Schick blades.

Dedication. The handle is perfect for me. The knot is huge, great splay, decent backbone. Mine didn't shed too bad initially, maybe a dozen hairs. It holds a ton of lather, more than enough for 3 passes. :) The Orion and the Ranger look nice. Wouldn't mind one each of Aldo's Brushes. ;)

Rapira Swedish Super Steel (3) blade
    Custom Shavemac Silvertip brush
    RazoRock One X shave soap
    3 passes WTG/XTG/ATG + touch-up.
    Homemade mentholated after shave splash

Very nice shave. Despite a thin lather (I'm not used to this brush) I got an excellent protective shave none-the-less.
I really really love RazoRock's soaps. It's a shame they're so hard to come by here. It seems I never get a bad shave from it.
The Shavemac knot is around 80 USD here. I can't say I favor it over the 5 USD Bestshave #6.. It's not bad, but the #6 is just that good!
Still, I like the brush. But not for everyday. Only special occasions.

As close to BBS as possible for me.

    Have a nice day!

To be honest todays shave wasn't really good, had some weepers and my skin felt a bit irritated afterwards, but I enjoyed facelathering Palmolive with the 2000. So much thick, creamy lather, just what the Lather Lord likes :happy093:
