Ouch! I would have pulled the knot too. This one is going strong and has good backbone. I love all this vintage stuff!
Thursday's shave here in Thailand and today is straight day. Full hollow 7/8" Dorko blank blade, done up and scaled by Wacker Sr. Jack Black shave cream, my beloved 21mm Nightdivers Barbershop Special Nr 1 shave brush (a prototype at the time). Musgo Real pre- and post-shave to round off. Nice, very nice!

The Crazy Ivan in SEptember! September 9 Razor - Schick E2 Injector Blade - (2) Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Arko Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea Second day of the E2. Looking forward to it when I got up since it was so good yesterday. I chose the Pro 48 and Arko lather factory today and as always it took about 4 seconds to have enough lather to fill the Mississippi. Away we go. First pass was very nice like yesterday. The angle seems pretty automatic, especially with the feedback it gives, and I finished up with a good WTG pass. XTG was also good though I noticed one slight nick or weeper right on the goatee line on the right side. Lathered up again for a third pass. Went ATG on the face then XTG and G-slide on the neck. Realized as I came across the neck right to left under the goatee that I had acquired a couple of nicks right there as well. Either I got too aggressive with pressure in that area or I misjudged the angle. Whatever the cause the alum proved it out. Very nice burn against the goatee and the neck was pretty hot too even though there was no more blood anywhere. Overall no real complaints. Using a less flexible blade may have something to do with it as well. I'll give it another run tomorrow and focus on keeping pressure off as well as holding angle on the neck run. Nivea cooled it off and I was off to sit at my desk and watch nothing happen at work today. Not my favorite kind of day. Hope your Wednesday went better!
Day 9 - SEptember 2015 30 Days with a Schick G Automatic! Alum and TSD ISZ AS, then Clubman. BBS on 2! Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a triumphant Thursday!

Tabacstag! I got the usual terrific Tabac shave today. If you haven't tried it you should. B&M Fougère Classique is a very nice splash. The scent is long lasting and it makes my skin feel good after a brief sting that lets me know how well I shaved. Very little sting today, even though I pushed the Fatboy to 9-9-7. I don't think the shave is different enough at those settings to justify the increased risk, so I'll go back to 9-7-7.

Any colder than this and I would have gotten freezerburn. The Glacial Obsidian soap and the matching balm did a hell of a number on me and the Penguin gave me so much additional frostiness. What a great shave!

As usual for me, the lather on this was underwhelming, though the skincare, protection, and glide were up to the task. The Bolzano is only now starting to show the slightest hints of dulling, as there was a hot-spot along my jawline after the DFS shave. Pairing the Glacial Obsidian's chill with the heat of the Cat o' Nine Tails was definitely an eye-opener.
