I have no doubt this question has been asked before...but indulge me just this once (okay...so you indulge me all the time...who's counting?). I have no doubt most of you have found your perfect combination of hardware and software. Yes, you have many favourites, but this combination is different. You know even before you step up to the sink that it will be a perfect shave experience....every time.
What is your one absolute perfect combination of: razor, blade, brush, soap/cream and after shave? :love055:

This question, while interesting, is too difficult to answer, sorry. (I have too many great combinations) :)

A well honed straight of German, English, French or American steel (that's what I own I am not skipping any fine razor making countries on purpose)

A badger brush in silvertip between 22mm and 29mm from Germany or England

Soap or cream of Italian, German, French, English or American creation

All mixed up in a Scwarzweisskeramik

There are so many varieties of shaves.

Today's was a Simpson chubby 2 in super stirring up some ToB Eton shaving with a Thiers-Issard stropped on a Westholme.

For me, a guaranteed DFS is a twin blade cartridge on my 1972 Trac II handle, using Arctic Chill Barbasol. Aces! (I enjoy all my TTO's, DE's and Injectors, but the twin blade gives the closest shave with comfort)

Nothing but great shaves with this combo.

I could probably find 6-10 other combo's that are similar in performance.

I, too, have several combinations that reside on the Cloud 9 of Shaving....but this combination is a particular favourite.
My Gillette Canadian Heavy Tech with an Astra SP blade, Mitchel's Wool Fat Shaving Soap and my Semogue 1438 Brush. Not in the picture is my home made pre-shave oil and Witch Hazel. This combo gives me a perfect shave every time and leaves my face feeling great.

Too many for me. With my soap, brush, razor, and blade collection, I have many, many wonderful combinations with which to get great shaves.

This is relatively simple for me to begin with. I now only use one razor and blade. I've invested in a new brush recently that has performed like nothing else I've tried. So just got to pick a soap and aftershave combo.....

    Muhle r89.
    Gillette yellow 7 o'clock.
    Loccitane plisson brush.
    TOBS Eaton collection cream
    TOBS Eaton collection a/s.

    Ready for anything after that.

Probably changes on a weekly basis ... but I always get good shaves with the following combination:

Schick Krona DE razor (something about the head profile that makes it great for me)
Rapira Platinum Lux (sharp, smooth, and long lasting blades)
Edwin Jagger Silvertip Fibre L brush (my best overall brush)
Any TFS soap (but any soap that lathers and protects well really, I'm not picky)
Pitralon Classic aftershave (unless the soap scent conflicts with the Pitralon Classic ... e.g. in the case of Tabac)
