For Sunday: (NO menthol stuff!) Stirling Pre-Shave Soap Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 7 Stirling Barbershop SS Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer Brut AS That's right, you're not imagining anything - nothing with menthol for my Sunday shave. The Barbershop soap has everything I love - a real, old-school and true barbershop scent with yummy lather that's so rich, slick, and protective. It's the only unmentholated soap from Rod I have at present, but this fall I'm planning to buy a couple of others. The Brut aftershave is very nice as well. It's full of that classic scent which I love and my wife loves to hate. Last run for this Derby!
Razor: Valet Auto Strop Model "C"- 1935-40/ Gillette 1958 TV Special(5) Feather blade) Blade: Valet New Process (5) Brush: Frank Shave Best Badger Beechwood Handle 22/55 Soap: Synergy Shaving Soap Bay Rum A/S: Captain's Choice Bay Rum Have to admit I love the smell of Bay Rum when I open this soap and get ready to shave. Valet will stay n my rotation now that I'm improving using the strop. Five passes with the strop and the blade is ready for a 2 pass shave. Cleanup with the Gillette and end up with a DFS. Finish with the Bay Rum A/S, then settle in for enjoyable Saturday evening. Have an excellent weekend everyone.
I had to reread that post a couple of times to make sure I read it correctly! I love the Stirling Barber Shop; it is a great soap with a great scent.

Sunday's Dove Men Face Wash Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap Bethlehem Olivewood ST Gillette President Personna SS CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Aqua Velva The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Bethleham Olivewood Silvertip brush. Two passes with my Gillette President razor and a Personna SS blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The Crazy Ivan in SEptember! September 12 Razor - 1959 Gillette Ball End Tech Blade - (2) Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Arko Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea Early Saturday morning due to monthly spiff meeting. Up an hour earlier than even an early Saturday and hit the shower to shave fast. Grabbed the Pro 48 and Arko to idiot proof the lather and did a two pass with the Tech and the Vietnamese Gillette to get a DFS. Not too much irritation, threw on the Nivea, grabbed extra coffee and out the door. You wish you could have my schedule don't you. Good shave again with this blade. Again, not on the par of a Russian Gillette but still not a bad shave at all.
SHAVE OF THE DAY RAZOR: 1953 GILLETTE TECH BLADE: SUPER-MAX STAINLESS (1ST SHAVE) BRUSH: OMEGA S SYNTHETIC UBERLATHER: C.O. BOGGELOW/ KMF PACHOULI POST: ALUM BLOCK, OSAGE RUB/ MUSGO REAL CLASSIC A/S Had to go to my friends wedding today so I decided to shave. The scent of the Uberlather reminded me of Porasso Sandalwood which is a good thing. This combination worked out very well and I will have to try it again in the future. No irritation from the alum which was surprising because it almost always burns a little bit. Musgo Real classic is a great scent and is not too strong which is what I was looking for. Hope everyone had a great shave and a great day!
