1953 (Y3) Tech Vulfix Super Badger (660) Proraso Sandalwood cream Aqua Velva Ice Blue Shave #4 with the Rapira Swedish Supersteel in my birthday Tech. A comfortable BBS shave. Used about a 1/2 inch dollop of Proraso on each side of my neck and squeezed out the water from the Vulfix Super Badger brush and did a face lather. Added a little less than a hand scoop of water after starting the lather. The result was smooth and creamy. 2 full passes: Pass 1 WTG on my face and XTG on my neck (wings to center today). Pass 2: ATG. Not as close today as yesterday. Did a cold water rinse followed by a few targeted touch ups in my problem areas and caught the baby. Took a little a bit more effort than the last couple of days. The Aqua Velva yelled a bit today, but quieted down pretty quickly. Another nice BBS shave from the Rapira Swedish Supersteel in the Tech. Tomorrow, I'll move on to the Gillette Silver Blue.
SEptember Focus Day 14: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Glacial Spearmint Gem G Bar Osage Rub Stirling Unscented PSB Barbasol Brisk AS I swapped to my G Bar this morning. The angles are a little different, but it isn't nearly as aggressive as the Micromatic. It is a lot different than the Injector as well. The Stirling Glacial Spearmint had my eyes watering a bit this morning, so it was a chilling shave. All in all, a good start to my Monday.
09/14/2015 Razor – Mongoose B2 with Dr. Bomber Blade –Feather Super Pro (1) Brush – Rudy Vey with Shavemac Finest Lather – Strop Shoppe Baker Street Post - Witch Hazel and Fine Platinum A great 3 pass near BBS shave this morning. I'm out of practice with the Super Pro blade and managed to get a weeper above my lip. I also noticed the blade as a little harsh but it should smooth out over the next several shaves. It's been a while since I used the SS Baker Street soap. I love the scent and it's very easy to get a good slick lather. Finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum. Happy Monday everyone.
So I guess since I skipped posting yesterday I'll have to do two today. Yesterday was the R41 & Derby blade on day 2. PAA soap and AS. Not bad. I think the Derby may be a one and done for me. I don't have the thickest growth but they're wirey and my face is getting more "blue" the older I get. It wasn't the greatest shave. Weird patches showed up after a couple hours but it felt BBS after the shave. Today I used my Delta Echo Tech on the same Derby blade (3). I really like Derby blades! Not the closest but man I can move with a quickness with that combo. The PAA is not as slick as Chiseled Face but oh well. More water it is. Let's make a soapy mess. So out the door I went. DFS for the day.
SOTD September 14, 2015 Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost Razor: Mongoose B3 Dr. Bomber Handle Blade: Feather Professional Lather: RazoRock Santa Maria del Fiore Sapone da Barba Brush: L'Occitane Plisson Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Shambala I've been trying other handle that I have with the Mongoose head, trying but not using because nothing feels better than the Dr. Bomber handle. I haven't gotten tired of using the Goose, it's that good. This soap is so soft I can't swirl the brush I have to use my finger and dab some on my face. It works. I love Shambala. No alum block used this month so far, I do notice I get a bit more of a sting from my aftershave. I like. 3 & out. Later today I'll shave my head with my new Gillette Atra handle. Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE

September 30 Day Focus--Blade Search Sept 14 (no shave yesterday) Razor -- Lord L6 Blade -- Ladas Brush -- VDH Boar Soap -- Stirling Lemon Chill! Post -- Cold water splash and WH (M-Bombed of course . . . it is menthol Monday!), TSD ISZ It was another excellent shave from the Ladas today. Day 3 on the blade felt just like day 1 and day 2. No signs of letting up or wearing out. First pass was nice and smooth. Second pass, nice and smooth. Basically that is all this combination can do is nice and smooth (no complaints at all of course). Ladas has proven to be an excellent blade for me in the Lord L6 razor! I put it right up there with the GSB, so it will definitely be one that I pick up along the way. Very smooth, no irritation, just good clean slices through the hair. It does an excellent job on 2 pass shaves giving me BBS or near BBS all three times. Maybe some day I will have to do a blind blade versus blade challenge with the GSB and Ladas to see if I really can tell which I prefer better. Tomorrow I move on to another blade, even though I feel certain the Ladas blade has several more shaves in it. I think tomorrow I am going to try a non-Russian blade (@NCoxSTL will likely send the Russian Blade Cartel after me, but I figure I have to try and diversify a little). Debating between the Personna Reds from Israel, the Treet Platinum from Pakistan, and Crystal out of Israel. Are the Personna Lab Blue the only ones made in the US? Have a great week and happy shaving!
I'll give you one pass for an imperialist blade. Lab Blues are the only American blade yes, well Med Preps as well but they are the same blade.....they just clean the Med an extra time to make it work in medical applications. I haven't used an Israeli blade and won't but some like them. Treet is a good blade...well some are. The Platinum and Double Edge carbons I like.
