Welcome to TSD. A week is very early days yet but your technique will improve with time and practice. Plenty of good advice here but preparation is an important factor, particularly beard hydration. Some suggest warming your face with a warm towel or flannel, or alternatively washing your face in warm/hot water, to open the pores while letting your brush soak in warm water before lathering. Try looking up "The Sharpologist" web site or "mantic59" tutorials on Youtube for excellent advice. Regards, Chris
