First shave with the Schick F today produced really nice results. Thanks to tips from Billy, the blade was loaded without incident and I was able to knock down two days growth like a champ. I didn't find the razor to be aggressive at all as I had read.
That's great Sir....The F Type is an amazing injector in my books....Its up there with the Type D for me although they are different animals....I find the F type to be aggressive towards the whiskers and very smooth and ever so forgiving even more so than later models... Glad you enjoyed it Sir.... Billy
Opened this yesterday and used it for the first time today. Haven't used a twin blade in a while and never with an injector. The razor gave an excellent shave! I only have the two blades so I'm going to be using the Chicks after this one is finished.
I haven't posted in this thread for way too long! Here's what I've been shaving with for the past week. My formerly NOS L-type with a Personna blade. Today I put a new blade in it so it should be good for another week
I'll be using my type F for the second time tomorrow. Now that I know it's not as aggressive as I read, I wont be as apprehensive with it.
My daughter is an Officer in the Merchant Navy and she is based in Mobile Alabama in the USA ....Can anybody that resides in the USA tell me where she can purchase some Chinese Schick Injector blades for me please...? They are far cheaper in the States than in the UK.... Billy
drugstore.com seems to be the cheapest place I've found. Not sure if they ship international but they might. Finding them in a store here is a bit tough. Sometimes you'll find a small independent pharmacy that carries them but the chain stores don't where I live.
September 14, 2015 During Single Edge SEptember I've shaved with four different Schick injectors for the first time (Type E, G, I and J) and had very good to excellent two-pass shaves. Today I'll be trying my first shave with a PAL Adjustable. Morning shave Hot Shower Soap: Arko stick Brush: Omega Pro 48 Razor: PAL Adjustable Blade: Schick Injector (China) (1) Thayers Lemon & Aloe Witch Hazel After Shave: Myrsol Limon Three day growth, so I'll do a three-pass shave. First shave - WTG - Since I've never used this razor before, I chose to ride the blade flat against my skin for most of the first pass. I had almost no feedback. Actually rechecked for a blade halfway through - it was there and cutting very efficiently. Second pass - XTG - I chose to adjust the blade a few degrees from the first pass. Slightly more feedback, but pretty quiet. Good result, left me in a great position for a third pass. Third pass -ATG - used same steep angle as last pass and was rewarded with excellent shave. Next best part - little or no irritation based on AS application. With the increased blade angle going ATG, I had even more feedback but not the velcro-ripping sound I was mostly accustomed to with the Schicks. BBS in spots, but I did not chase. Looking forward to more experience with the razor first. The great first shave with the PAL makes me certain there will be many more to come! Just wanted to show one interesting element for me when looking at the face of the PAL. I notice on the face, there is a beveled surface on it that angles down toward the blade. Don't know if this affects the shave, but there's something that made this razor stand out from the Schicks - at least after the first shave. Cheers! RT
Great write up Sir.....Felt as if I was there with you on this one moment by moment....I get every minute detail you are talking about here....The PAL Injectors don't offer as much audible feed back as most Schick's....The Type D is probably the exception as its very quiet as well...I did say it can feel as if there isn't a blade in the PAL Adjustable as they are just so efficient at cutting away....Very deceptively aggressive this razor but ever so smooth....Sounds as if you are going to get a lot of enjoyment from this injector for years to come... If I had one Injector to rely on and Keep above all others....This Does it for me... Billy
The PAL is a fine tool! I love the one I have, definitely a keeper. I usually set it on the medium notch and it does a fine job. Mike
