Tyr's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger Lather: Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint soap Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bolzano Superinox (1) Passes: WTG, XTG. (1, 2) Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's witch hazel, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash Cologne: Burberry Brit Swapped in a new Bolzano, as the old had clearly passed its prime. I let the brush soak, and the soap bloom, for less time than I normally do this AM, and it seemed like the lather suffered a little bit for at least one of those choices. As usual, I opted not to go for a third pass on a blade's first day, settling for DFS results without any redness of irritation or blood. The Metilsol sure leaves my face feeling good.
OMG, is my face ever frozen-stiff. As I've said before countless times, I don't know what Rod did to the Glacial soaps, but they're now almost bordeline-painfully cold. The Lemon Chill soap produced tons of some of the richest and nicest lather I ever had with a menthol sensation that can compete with the Cryogen soap from Chiseled Face. The Rubby Dubby Doo added its own potent freeze when I slapped it on. Except for a tiny weeper on my chin which healed during my cold water rinse this was a perfect, delightful BBS shave!
Manly Tabacstag! Today I tried a new pre shave after seeing a friend using it… Paul Mitchell Tea Tree conditioner. I already use it on my hair and I love how it cools and has gentle hold, leaving my hair soft and controlled. I took a little bit and worked it into my stubble like a soap and lathered Tabac right over it. I think it worked well - no noticeable cool, but my lather did not suffer one bit. Tabac never fails. I don’t remember a bad shave using it. Not always perfect, but never a blood bath, either. I got a drama free BBS today, leaving the Fatboy on 9 for all three passes. I won’t be able to stay on 9 tomorrow, but I will enjoy today. This was my 102nd use of the Fatboy, and it has become hard for me to use anything else. I mix in Der Vorschlaghammer and my New LC from time to time, but the Fatboy has taken over my den. The wide open Gillette, combined with B&M Roam aftershave made this one manly shave. Roam comes on very strong, but mellows out after a few minutes. I used Shea Moisture balm as a final touch. Prep: warm shower, Tea Tree conditioner Soap: Tabac! Brush: HIS Lather Monster Razor: 1959 Fatboy on 9 Blade: Voskhod (2) AS: B&M Roam Kyovu, Shea Moisture Balm

The Vie Long brush whipped the Tobacco #2 into a nice lather. The Featherweight paired with the GEM blade and the Duck did a good job removing the stubble. The GEM blade is at the end of its life and will be retired. The Nivea and the Midnight In Paris were a nice finish to this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!

TUESDAY Seventh & Final shave of a 7-Day Test Drive: Mastro Livi Custom This morning's early shave marked the seventh and my last shave using this lovely Mastro Livi Custom Straight Razor. Another great 3-pass, near-BBS experience! I have come away very impressed with this razor. The keenness of the large Damascus steel blade is over-the-top sharp, the Spanish tip deadly if one isn't careful, the oversized scales smooth & light. The overall effect in using this razor is to heighten one's awareness of the entire shaving process. Thanks to Mike (@entropy1049 ) for generously sharing this fine razor! I not only survived the experience, but came away very pleased with (and spoiled by) the Mastro! Have a great Tuesday, all!
