The RazoRock P.160 Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #16 Best Badger brush. Two passes with my Schick L1 Injector razor and a Personna SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thank you. I try to create simple iPhone setups that appear more complex texturally than they really are. :)
Capturing interesting straight razors shot is a challenge as they can be difficult to position and not all can 'stand up' unassisted. Laying them upon the soap containers is an easy fix for most razors.

Whewwwww, the return of warm weather here in Montreal means that I need to keep the menthol freeze going for as long as possible. I think I did very well by selecting the Godrej Menthol Mist cream because it's PLENTY cold - in fact I would even say that it's at about the same level as Palmolive Menthol, or really close to it. The Gold Bond has a tremendous cooling effect as well and so does the Alt Innsbruck. The Pe Re Ja cologne is a very nice, refreshing lemony-scented from Turkey which is great in this kind of weather. ;) :D

    Thursday Planned SOTD

    Razor: Joris Palladium Black\white stripe
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (D4)
    Brush: M&F Butterscotch 25mm 2-band Blonde
    Bowl: Buffalo Horn 6”
    Pre Shave Scrub: MRGLO
Pre Shave Oil: Homemade Rosemary Mint
Shave Soap: La Savonniere du Moulin 40% "Asses Milk"
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Extro Bay Rum Artigianale

This morning I used the 30% version of SdM and decided to pull out my 40% for the first time to compare the two. Side by side the 40% appears a denser white color but the true test will be tomorrow morning shave and see if I can detect a difference in shave quality.

Well...I found the limit for me and the China Schick blade. It is 10. This shave still wasn't tuggy but can feel it is headed for bad shaves ahead. So I am not pushing my luck. I am very happy with 10 great and comfortable shaves.

Just gotta love Da Fat. I always get a great shave with it. Shave number 7 with the MR3 was smooth and comfortable. Finished up with the Nivea Sensitive ASB, an awesome balm that isn't oily.

Razor - Ever Ready 1914 Lather Catcher
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea

Welcome to day two of SEptember part two! The Lather Catcher and PAL Blue Carbon up again with the BoSFat on deck. I wish I had made a video or at least taken a picture of the lather this morning. Classic exploding stuff. Had the water just right, the brush just dry enough and WHAMMO did that lather burst into existence. It was almost a spiritual moment. In fact, as I lathered up and set the razor on the first stroke I felt like I might be approaching nirvana. Then the second shave on a carbon blade brought me back down a notch.

There was definitely a difference between yesterday and today. Not enough to abort the shave but I felt quite a bit more tugging and roughness. I had even hand stropped the blade just to try and avoid that. The audio feedback was just magnificent but the tactile feedback was more than just striking, it was pulling more than yesterday. Well, a carbon blade is a carbon blade. I do like using them occasionally. Something about getting back to the past in all its glorious imperfections. Second pass XTG wasn't too bad and the third pass to finish up ATG on the face, XTG and then slide the neck were a bit better as well, though doing a slide with this blade is perhaps next level advanced. A bit surprised I came away without a nick. But, DFS, if a bit less perfect than yesterday's and overall a great shave. The lather probably made me a bit less judgmental about the blade.

The Alum bit good today as I knew it would so I reached for the Nivea Original to cool the fire. Then off to another grinding day. Once again we've survived half a week. Another half to go.

    TSD 2X Iced Barbershop
Dickinson’s ++Menthol, Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter
TSD Aftershave Splash - 2X Iced Barbershop

Today’s was a near BBS 2-Pass plus clean up shave. It was the last shave for the Feather Pro blade. The plan is to try a Feather Super Pro for Saturday’s Birthday Shave. It’s a mean looking blade that should provide a real close shave. At least, that's the word on the street. The only problem with TSD 2x Iced Barber Shoppe is remembering how to spell it correctly. It’s easy to lather, has a nice icy, slick feel, has a great scent and good moisturizing.

A last minute SOTD change: the Brush for today’s shave will be The Varlet Beehive. This was the fourth lathering of the brush and there was no shedding at all. The bush has good firmness and density with soft luxurious tips. The knot held enough lather for three passes. It had great flow through and very little splay. The handle is well designed and has a nice fit, in my large hand. Its medium size was comfortable yet allowed for quick and easy angle changes. The Beehive does provide an excellent lathering experience. It has an outstanding knot. Well done Aldo!

Your experience with the PAL BC was exactly the same for me and I tried two different PAL BC but two shaves on each was all that I could handle. Switched back to the Gem PTFE SS. For the Record, Don Juan SS I was only brave enough for two shaves on two different blades. Gem PTFE SS from here on out for me.

I enjoy reading all your testing of blades.
