Welcome to day two of SEptember part two! The Lather Catcher and PAL Blue Carbon up again with the BoSFat on deck. I wish I had made a video or at least taken a picture of the lather this morning. Classic exploding stuff. Had the water just right, the brush just dry enough and WHAMMO did that lather burst into existence. It was almost a spiritual moment. In fact, as I lathered up and set the razor on the first stroke I felt like I might be approaching nirvana. Then the second shave on a carbon blade brought me back down a notch.
There was definitely a difference between yesterday and today. Not enough to abort the shave but I felt quite a bit more tugging and roughness. I had even hand stropped the blade just to try and avoid that. The audio feedback was just magnificent but the tactile feedback was more than just striking, it was pulling more than yesterday. Well, a carbon blade is a carbon blade. I do like using them occasionally. Something about getting back to the past in all its glorious imperfections. Second pass XTG wasn't too bad and the third pass to finish up ATG on the face, XTG and then slide the neck were a bit better as well, though doing a slide with this blade is perhaps next level advanced. A bit surprised I came away without a nick. But, DFS, if a bit less perfect than yesterday's and overall a great shave. The lather probably made me a bit less judgmental about the blade.
The Alum bit good today as I knew it would so I reached for the Nivea Original to cool the fire. Then off to another grinding day. Once again we've survived half a week. Another half to go.
