great shave today. My french soap mix consists of 1/4 MDC, 1/4 Provence Sante, 1/4 L'occitane Cade, and 1/4 Le Pere Lucien. This is an excellent combo that always shines for me. Monday morning shave! Same as the last few days. Decided to toss the Gillette 7 O'Clock black after this one. It was still very sharp but getting just a touch rough after 5 shaves. Could have pushed it a lot farther if I wanted to though.

How would you compare the Proraso Green to say the Stirling Spearmint or Stirling Winter green, or for that matter Dr. Bronner's Eucalyptus Magic Soaps?
It gives a great shave, but I think I am going to draw the limit soon. I never went more than 7 days at tops with a DE/SS Razor Blade. I have a couple of refills for the razor but have not bought a package of refills yet. When I go to the Pharmacy tomorrow before we leave on our trip in the RV I will get a refill package of 4 I have a coupon for $5.00 off but I didn't want to buy a 12 pack. I can get them cheaper on Amazon but they want you to join the amazon Prime Pantry program, where they send you refills of everything you buy every 30 days. (that's more of a PITA than it's worth!)

Patrick are you talking about Glacial Winter Green? The Glacial is a face freezer, the Proraso Green is chilly and nice. Both provide outstanding post shave. Proraso is a snap when it comes to lathering, Stirling you'll need to spend an extra 30 seconds

I guess we are just a Bunch of "Old Farts". Years ago I got my Father in Law a coffee cup that say's "Old Fart" on it, I never thought that one day I would be using that same "Old Fart" Coffee Cup. I got it back after he passed away. He and I always seemed to not get along together, but I sure miss him and his "Un-want Advice" (always when you didn't want it or ask for it) I think he and my Dad would have really been good no great friends.

Pre shave- Stirling unscented preshave oil Shave-W&M Elliot Straight Razor Stirling SDM Shave Soap Stirling synthetic brush Aftershave- Stirling SDM splash Decided against using the Wintergreen Glacial I normally use on Menthol Monday as I am still learning how to use a straight and watering eyes and a running nose whilst shaving seemed like a bad idea. 2 Passes for a DFS/BBS. No nicks, cuts, or razor burn.
