I am glad you got a good shave from your G. Maybe because I am so used to DE razors, but it does seem the Injectors are a little more angle sensitive to me, so heeding @Bama Samurai's advice is critical. The funny thing for me was the noise mine made when I was too steep in the angle. It sounded like it was mowing down a forest, but didn't cut hardly a blade of grass. Now that I have it cutting, the sweet spot for me seems to give very little audible feedback.

This is great stuff Adam! Very impressive skills you've got there of capturing the essence of the posts.

Ya know, I try to read every post religiously and try to help out where I can, (shenanigans when I can't) but it's getting to where if you miss a day, catch up is tough, miss more than that - it's overwhelming. The posting of @Bama Samurai and his Gang of Samurai's has taken this thread to the next level of growth,it's all good of course, but requiring a bit of modernization....

Thereby, I respectfully nominate @Drygulch as the official Secretary of the 30-day Thread, with the sole responsibility of providing a weekly "Executive Summary of Posts" to the Denizens of the 30-Day Thread.

    So moved.

    Single-Edge SEptember
So far this month I've shaved with a variety of Schick injectors for the first time (Type C1, C3, E, G, I and J), a PAL Adjustable injector and a few Gems (1912, Featherweight and Pushbutton).

Still working my Gem SEs, with today’s shave using a 1941 Gem (Micromatic) "Clog Prufwith a Gem PTFE blade.

I’m on my 4th shave with the blade, don’t know have many more I can get from it?
Will it be affected by what I’ve heard is a more aggressive razor?

    GemClogPruf.JPG

Two-day stubble, means three pass shave.

1st pass - Definitely feels like a more aggressive razor just based on significant blade feedback, passable reduction on WTG pass.

2nd pass - XTG pass reduced most of the remaining stubble to what is normally left prior to my last pass. Audible feedback was still significant but no tugging.

3rd pass - ATG had beyond the usual amount of feedback I’ve gotten from the other Gems in the ATG pass. Resulted in a very nice shave, mostly clean and no irritation.

Will try a new blade tomorrow to compare the shave quality.

    Cheers!

Another great shave tonight. Probably a BBS shave after spending a little time working with the Ever-Ready 1914 razor. Still have difficulty getting close around the noise. The 34C cleans up what the 1914 misses. Knockout Shave Cool Blue is a great soap which leaves a slick coating on my face.

We should take a vote on what his salary should be. Sounds like a lot of work, and ,therefore, he should be paid accordingly.

Razor - Gillette 1918 Old Style
    Blade - [IMG](3)
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Soap - Tabac
Post - Cold Water, Alum, More cold water, Styptic

Well, either valor or laziness led the day today. Didn't have to be at orientation for the new job until 10 so I slept in a bit, had a nice breakfast and hit the shower. Hey, the Rimei and 1918 were a good match yesterday so why not give it a third day on the blade and just enjoy another aggressive shave. After all I can throw the BoS and Tabac at it for a great lather. What's the worst that could happen? Well, ok so it wasn't quite that bad. The WTG pass was good if a bit more aggressive than yesterday on the neck. I can tell the blade is good for three shaves and no more. Went for XTG and had my first problem. I can't even blame it totally on the blade but.....there was a small bump near my right ear. I suspect it was a bug bite from yesterday's romp in the woods. I didn't notice it in the mirror, nor did the WTG catch it. Boy did the XTG though. I mean I felt it nearly stop the blade then almost in slow motion just go right through. Yeah, fun sensation. With the aggressiveness of the '18 it was a moment I won't soon forget. Looked at the mirror and saw the nice river of blood running down to my jaw line. Washed it off, very small cut actually, so away we go with the rest of the XTG. Finished that pass at DFS like yesterday so good enough for the day. Started repairs with cold water and pressure, alum, more cold water then a styptic treatment. All's well and the first day is done and I'm home. Hope your Monday treated you well.
