    Day 26 - SEptember 2015

    30 Days with a Schick G

    image.jpeg
Second day in a row on La Toja, and it was flawless lather like always. This blade may be dulling, a weeper or two appeared. Alum and M-bomb Florida Water was today's finisher. I will give the blade one more day. Just an average Saturday out here watching college ball and being lazy. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a super Sunday!

Thanks! The Percocet is taking care of the pain ;) Yeah Addy is my little baby girl, my wife and daughter are at the party. I'm hoping my wife does some FaceTime with Addy in a little bit.

Have you guys seen Italian Barber is selling a nice Plissoft 24mm brush for $9.99. I have two Plisson and a number of synthetics but I did want a soap from RR so I went ahead and ordered a brush to.

    SEptember Focus Day 25:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    TSD Lanolin Egyptian Spice
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Captain's Choice Bay Rum AS

Late shave today, as I have been helping my parents move. It was good one, but rushed a but due to guests coming over for dinner. With the cooler weather and shorter days, the Bay Rum is called for, and the Captain's Choice was great. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

I have decided that my SE focus is over after 26 days. I will be out of town all week on business and have decided to start my October focus Monday morning. For October, I will be doing a blade focus. I have picked ten blades that I will use for three days each with the same razor. I will be using an Edwin Jagger DE 89, which was my first DE razor. I hope to narrow down my blades to a few favorites in October. I like look forward to watching you OC focus guys experiment. Have fun!

Guess that ending was not a good one for y'all. My father was at Florida when Spurrier was there and won the Heisman. So it will always be a favorite team, just not the favorite.

Will be looking forward to reading your October reports on the blades. Have tried several of those and some were great, some ok. Have several on your list that are definitely still on my to try list, including the feather. Good luck with the blade test and hope the business trip is a good and productive one. Safe travels!

Much better shave this morning. Starting with the TSD soap meant a full proof slick lather. 3 pass with the GEM FW got me close to a BBS. Finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum. Off to go with my Mom to church and spend time with her today. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

I will be interesting to follow your October focus. The DE89 is a razor that many of us have used at some point (I have an R89), and you're using some very popular blades.

Have safe travels this week. :)

    1954 (Z1) Gold Tech
    Frank Shaving Pur-tech Synthetic
    Proraso Sandalwood cream
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Shave #3 with the Lord Platinum Class in my Gold Tech. First shave with the Frank Shaving Pur-tech Synthetic. A comfortable BBS shave.
Face lathered, then did 2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG on my face and XTG on my neck (top to bottom today). Pass 2: ATG. A near BBS at this point. Did a cold water rinse followed by a small amount of touch up in my problem areas and the baby came home. The Aqua Velva was quiet today.

A very nice BBS shave from the Lord Platinum Class in my Gold Tech. Pleased with my new Frank Shaving Pur-tech Synthetic. I squeezed the brush before face lathering, but I didn't get enough water out, so it was dripping quite a bit while I built my lather, but it settled down after a bit. Pretty good lather from the brush and the Proraso. I don't like it as well as my Vulfix Badger, but I think it will be a good travel brush.

    Have a great Lord's Day!

    Blade B: Feather (6)
Brush: WDC-1 Grandfather's restored rush Black Badger Wood Handle (20/65
Soap: TSD Iced Irish Spring Type
A/S: TSD Iced Irish Spring Type

    Day 27
Good morning shave today for a change. TSD soap whipped up into a great lather with a fresh smell of Irish Spring. Accompanied by the TSD Iced Irish Spring A/S was an excellent finish. The Ever-Ready SE is make a fair bit of noise when it cuts the through the facial hair, however, I'm kind of liking it now. :)
Grateful to have restored my Grandfather's brush and that it is still getting used after all these years. Couldn't have restored this brush without the help of members of TSD and Larry at Whipped Dog. :thanks:
