I just went off the wagon after 26 SE days. I received a Stahly in the mail and wanted to try it, so did an evening shave. I put the Stahly head on a Weber Bulldog handle and loaded it with a Feather blade. I face lathered with a Palmolive shave stick using my TGN synthetic brush. This head deserves its nice reputation. Granted, this was my second shave today but I am BBS after two passes. I like it!
I was so excited about what is coming that I forgot to talk about what I used today. I used my my Semogue boar (anyone else tired of seeing that) to whip up a very fine lather out of Speick cream. I wasn't sure about this scent until it started getting fluffy, then the scent mellowed and was very pleasant. I loaded a fresh blade into the Gem Bullet Tip and started in, no handstropping. It was noticeably rougher compare to the first shave of the last blade. Which I hand stropped. I did 2 passes with the bullet tip and then did a third pass with the G type. Finished with Nivea sensitive post shave balm. DFS.

Being The Lord's Day, I came off the SE theme and used my Gillette President, my Sunday Shaver. However, tomorrow, I will be returning to the SE theme with my Schick I-1. I will finish off SEptember with it. Then starts my birth month, October. I will be using my birth year razors for that. That means, no OCtober theme for me. Sorry, guys. It would have been fun.

Monday, September 28, 2015 B-3 Mongoose with Triad Ti Helix Hex Feather Pro #4 Varlet Beehive Badger 24 X 50mm Krampert’s Frostbite Soap Alum, Dickinson’s ++Menthol, Gold Bond Green Lotion Krampert’s Frostbite Aftershave Excellent two pass, near BBS today. Started with Mr. Glo Soap. The Beehive Handle may be one of the ideal designs for a shave brush. The Varlet Knot has outstanding flow through, excellent face coverage, with substantial backbone, and holds enough lather for more than 3 passes. It loaded up in seconds with icy cool Frostbite and whipped up a mountain of creamy slick lather in a New York minute. I will continue to ride the smooth comfortable shave of the Mongoose through OCtober occasionally using one of my OC razors. Finished this great shave off with a healthy cold splash of Krampert's Frostbite Aftershave. Hope you all had a smooth easy shave today. Have a good week folks!
I'm afraid, I won't be making the OCtober theme either...My OCMM is my only Open Comb these days so I believe I'll stretch my SEptember Theme out for another month or year ha, ha...But I have done my OC research and I'll post my conclusions early....I had a beautiful Senator piffed to me once that gets my vote as not only favorite OC but favorite DE period ! But alas I returned that OC'ed Vixen back to her original owner...I know he missed her and I was using injectors and Ever Readys 98% of the time...But his having piffed her to me in the first place was another of those incredible thoughtful TSD moments...
I skipped my shave tonight. I have jury duty in the morning and 2 new Schick razors to try out that should be in the mail so I'm letting it grow. Like an artist stretching canvas I'm preparing for impending art. And I'm hoping that the sleepless eyes and the 2 day scrub makes me less desirable for jury duty.
This is the third 30 Day Rule this year with a Schick (G, J, L), they are all a delight. I totally get your avowed love of these razors. They just get it done minimal effort and are so comfortable for chasing BBS. My fave has been my Revere that was Dad's, but the G is the most efficient one I've tried. The only DE I have that even comes close is the Phoenix DOC, though the Cadet OC I used (it got PIFd) was a close second. But, I will keep this G forever, and the Revere too. I am doing a series of 30 Day rules all year with the idea of "love it or PIF to someone who might". I am undoing my RAD from last fall. And on that note: Day 27 was just great! Day 28 will be be a repeat of 27 all around. Have a great week Gentlemen, and a sterling Monday!

I have experienced that finding the correct approach and angle are possible, but it is a bit more work than I’ve experienced with the injectors and DEs. Cheers! RT
