I feel the same way. Being only 45 miles away, N GA makes living in Metro Atlanta bearable.

Shave #1 with the Rapira Super Stainless in my Gold Tech. Second shave with the Frank Shaving Pur-tech Synthetic.
Shook my FS synthetic brush before building my lather. It was pretty dry, so I added a few drops of water and resumed face lathering. It dripped quite a bit at that point, but settled down as I continued to lather. I think the lather was still too dry, but I rinsed my razor more frequently and the first pass was OK. Good reduction most places. I wet my face for the second pass and the lather was better.
Did 2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG on my face and XTG on my neck (top to bottom today). Pass 2: ATG. A near BBS at this point. A cold water rinse followed by a small amount of touch up in my problem areas and I ended up with the baby. The Aqua Velva was fairly quiet today.

A nice comfortable BBS shave from the Rapira Super Stainless in my Gold Tech. I still need to work on getting better lather from the synthetic, but an enjoyable shave regardless.

Hope everyone has a great week.

My son and I got back from San Antonio last night, and I decided against shaving, so this morning's shave wast first since Saturday. I ended up with a DFS to get my work week started.

When I was getting my setup ready last night, my son decided he was going to shave today too. He took a picture of his set up and wanted me post it. So, here is his set up for this morning.

A fantastic work morning near BBS shave. I will stay with the Mongoose through the end of the month. I just hope this blade makes the distance since it's getting a little tired. Finished off with the CC Bay Rum with menthol crystals added. Happy Monday.

That was fun! My baby kitten (she's now almost two) was sitting next to me when I was watching the video and boy was she freaking out! She couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. :happy102: Clint, beautiful country you were riding in.

Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost
    Razor: Gillette British Rocket
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Lather: MdC
    Brush: Stirling Synthetic
Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate
    Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Shambala
Very nice shave. The Gillette British Rocket is a superb razor, I've really taken a liking to Gillette TTO's. The strange thing is I couldn't stand them not long ago, and got rid of all but one. My technique has improved and so has my taste in razors :) I could go with my 4 TTO's and Mongoose and be very happy. MdC is such a joy to use. Shambala is a great way to end a shave.

Clint, this is a great photo and set up! I pulled the trigger on a bottle of CC Bay Rum this weekend based on all the good things I've heard about it.

Bill, this is a great post, and you are making some wonderful progress. I'd take a two-pass BBS shave any day of the week. I also think it's more difficult to get a good lather from a synthetic brush. It helped me to start with a drier brush (as you do), add water slowly to the point of adding almost too much water, and just take more time building the lather. And then take a little more time. I like my synthetic, especially as a travel brush, but it's hard to beat my badger brushes for quick and easy lather building. Have a great week.

Vince, I always enjoy your posts. You have made a lot of progress in a short time, and I believe Groucho could have taken some inspiration from your one-liners. How many razors do you have in your rotation, and what is your favorite overall set up so far?

From your photos, I bet you share a generously-sized bathroom with your Bride, and she has graciously assigned you a few inches of space on the countertop for your shaving goodies. The only rule is that you have to keep things neat and tidy. Oh, wait a minute, that's my story...

We are boarding a flight so I will make this quick. Today was day three with my Stahly head and a Feather blade. What a nice combo. However, 4:00am shaves can result in a nicked ear
Two pass BBS with almost no touch up.

    September 30 Day Focus--Blade Search

    Sept 28

    Razor -- Lord L6
    Blade -- Vaunted Voskhod
    Brush -- VDH Boar
Soap -- Proraso Red (completely forgot menthol Monday today :angry017:)
Post -- Cold water splash, WH

    20150901_150805-picsay.jpg

After having several really nice shaves with the Schick injector G (a razor which will definitely be in my permanent rotation) I am back to the original focus of this month, my blade search on the L6. I am returning to the Voskhod blade to give it another chance. I feel I may have treated it unfairly using it before my technique was sound and so I want to verify whether the blade is as good as @NCoxSTL claims or if it is just not the blade for me as I found previously. Today was another face lather, still not sure it is for me. I put a little proraso on my cheeks and a small amount on the brush which was good and wet and set about making very good lather. No complaints and the smell of proraso red is always amazing.

Well, like last time the blade is off to a very good start. It was very different picking back up the L6 after using the Schick, but like riding a bicycle the angles and everything came back very quickly. Set off on my first pass WTG on face and XTG on chin and neck. Very good first pass. Smooth as can be. Great reduction in my beard which had a couple days on it. No issues with pass number one. So on to pass 2. ATG everywhere and it was a very nice shave. Smooth, no irritation, sliced right through everything with ease. Cold water splash, a small touch up on the underside of my jaw, and it was a great shave.

Now, the Voskhod started strong last time too. Unfortunately, it the faded such that it was not a good shave by shave 3. Today was an excellent shave that is probably 99.9% BBS. No complaints at all. Here's to hoping it can keep up the good work and change my opinion of the blade.
