Just a glass of Kirkland (yeah, the Costco brand) pale ale. Nothing fancy, but it washed down that bowl of popcorn well enough.
This was recommended by a friend on my hunt two weeks ago. Excellent Port and reasonable priced too. Rare.
Whilst on holiday with the family last week, I picked up a bottle, to continue my journey into the world of Scotch. This is so far my favourite. Quite light and mild. But sweet too. I have a way to go before I can really comment on what it's all about. So I have pictured the writing from the box to do the explanation for me. However I know one thing. It's good. Cheers.
Two glasses for me tonight. Most unusual. ( I'm trying to convince both myself and you people!!). The first was a bottle of craft, that I enjoyed 'on tap' in a pub on holiday last week. I'm an IPA man on a normal day, but this was full and hoppy, better on tap than in a bottle. But a good beer. Then, a sly dram to help me sleep. After enjoying the original Jura 10yr single, I thought I'd try another whisky in the range, in the hope it would help me compare and learn. Wow. What a difference. Supposedly lightly peated, but to my inexperienced palate and nose, it was instant. It was full of smoke and grass flavours. I'm learning. And enjoying the journey.
3x Deschutes fresh squeeze ipas, now in to summit extra pale ale for the rest of the night... it's still early.. but it has been one of those weeks
Harpoon Grateful Harvest, a cranberry beer I purchased almost entirely for the philanthropic promise on its label.
