  1. Just to be clear on what worked for me:
    - choose one razor, brush and soap.
    - then get a sample pack of about 6 or 7 brands of blades.
    - shave with each brand for 2-3 shaves.
    - Choose the blade brand that works best for you and then get a 30-day supply of that blade.
...and THEN start a 30-day RULE using the same kit (razor, brush, soap) with the blade brand you've chosen.

I'd also add that you should be watching the Mantic video's while you are doing all this, as well as posting on the 30 day Thread like this one. They clown around shenaniganize a bit, but these guys really are great for advice to newbies.
  2. Yep, just like the rest of us, that razor craze is completely under control. :happy097::happy102::lyrtuy5::rofl:

  3. Once you get the craze controlled in one aspect of shaving it flares up somewhere else. I've only been wetshaving for 3 months and I have 20+ razors, 100+ brands of blade, 11 soaps and 5 brushes. It's a problem and I'm working on it. Once I get one of everything it won't be a problem anymore.:happy102:
  4. I would be lying if I said I haven't been looking at razors for the first 14 hours of this shift.. I also have a bid on some Proraso soaps on eBay..
  5. Yep, you're perfect for this place.
  6. I'm at work now jumping back and forth between ebay looking at straight razors and here.

  8. I work nights as a med tech at an assisted living facility. my job is to sit here until someone calls for meds. not much for me to do. have to stay quiet so I don't wake up the residents.
  9. Welcome back to one of the originals!
  10. I thought maybe the skunks got him!
  11. Welcome to the 30 Day thread! We got technique, and at the end of the month, you will too! Thanks for looking us up!
  12. I'm normally passed out by this time, but the army gods wouldn't have it that way this time. But hey, I get 24 hours off now so that's good. But I've been hunting a Gillette Fat Boy but dang are those things expensive.

  13. I finally have a home.
  14. Keep looking, I found mine for about $50 and it was perfect once I scrubbed the filth off. I don't envy you sitting thru CQ. I don't miss that at all. I'm very glad my working wakefulness is only from 11 to 7.

  15. CQ isn't so bad, I mean hey, I'm laying on the floor in the janitors closet for my 2 hour cool down before I relieve Chief! Life is beautiful
