(the Movie) Good story, but it's a musical. I hate musicals. There should have been a warning label. I was aware the original was a play, but was it, too, a musical? Furthermore, do all you str8 shavers sing to your razors and wear excessive eye makeup? I'll not mention forcing cannibalism on the unsuspecting....
Yes. It 'twas a........................ Musical. And it was...........er. um......is fabulous NOW PLAYING
I foundly remember my first musical. I was against it, wanted to spend the night at a pub instead... but I got talked into it and it totally blew my mind! Live musicals are just ACE! Wish I could see this!
and that is the reason why I'll never see it...It's a freaking musical!!!!!! Not even in DVD, Blue ray or any other mode...It's a freaking musical!!!!! Raf
I rented it and just saw the first 5 minutes or so... probably won't bother to watch it.... I would NEVER SING to my razor!!!! I draw the line at that sort of activity! Eye makeup...well it cuts down glare when I'm in the sun.....Different colors give me different personalities...well ya know....
I dont like musicals, but for some reason I liked the movie. Great cinematography, interesting story, lots of blood. If it wasnt for the blood, death, and canabalism, I wouldnt have actually watched it.
I totally hate musicals...a female co-worker listens to the soundtracks of Grease and Cats and all that crap and it makes no sense...that said The story in Sweeney Todd made up for the fact that all these people are singing to each other. The cannibalism twist was great and quite humorous.
I love musicals. Westside Story My Fair lady The Sound Of Music South Pacific Hello Dolly Mame Cabaret White Christmas Singing in the Rain Guys and Dolls Gypsy Paint Your Wagon Etc… Ahh, those were the days.
there is another version made in 2006 for the BBC. Not a musical, all the blood and gore and canabalism and no singing. I found it on isohunt. Great movie, and I believe the film footage is actual shaving!!!!!!!
sweeny todd also has a deeper character. He is troubled by his behaviour. Where the musical was a bit singleminded.
I would like to retract that last statement, your Honor..... Anyone who digs musicals is awright wit me ! There must be a Velva connection here.......I'll betcha Mike hates musicals as well !
