  1. Thanks for the reminder Mr.C!
I used these during my initial 30-day RULE back in June. (When I was still a wet-behind-the-ears shaver!)

I need to revisit them soon. I guess I've been testing the vast array of blade options we have for DE razors...and I haven't even hit but the tip of the iceberg yet.

btw - mine were the made in India version.

  2. you're close comrade. I told Igor to take a coffee break to buy you time.
  3. Razor: Gillette Aristocrat 1947 (Birth Razor)
    Blade: Voskhod Teflon Coated (2)
Brush: WDC-4 Silver Tip Butterscotch Handle (VIG) 24/67
    Bowl: Knock Out Shave
    Soap: Jack's Soap
    A/S: Pinaud Musk
    Day 7

Same procedure today, added a little menthol crystals to this soap, and it worked out very well. I am very surprised at the Voskhod blade. It provides a very close shave with very little resistance. Glides very smoothly in in the Aristocrat. Pretty well kept the same angle of attack tonight as I'm still learned this new blade.

  4. Happy Birthday, Neal! I hope you had a great one, even though you spent most of it at the Salt Mine.
  5. Thanks. This job isn't a killer so it's all good. I've always been a workaholic anyway so no worries there.
  6. Happy birthday!
  7. I don't know. Does it say on the blade? I bought one blade from tryablade so don't have a package. I'll look tonight.
  8. Jason labels them if they're Indian. otherwise they are the German ones
  9. Thanks! I guess mine is German then. What is the difference between the two and are the German ones still in production?

  10. I have heard some who prefer the German ones by a wide margin. I haven't used either so can't comment. I do think both are in production.
  11. Well? anticipation here.

  14. I picked up a couple of New LC's this evening. These are the seller's photos.

  15. Ok so I'm reaching out for a little help. It seems like no matter how good the lather is, or how gentle I use the razor, I'm getting some pretty bad irritation. It can still be sensitive the next day sometimes. Especially when I sweat. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
  16. 9 times out of 10 irritation is caused by blade angle. If the angle is too shallow you will scrape the face. Try increasing the angle ( handle more parallel to the floor) and see if that helps.
  17. Will do! Getting ready for my nightly shave as we speak. Will let know how it goes.
  18. Place the cap against your face and lower the angle just until you hear the whiskers being cut and concentrate on maintaining that angle.
  19. That may be where I messed up, I had been increasing angle from the safety bar.
  20. Shallow angle. ride the cap pull the handle down just enough for the blade to cut. No pressure, just let the razor and blade do the work for you. More passes done right is way better then less passes done badly. I still sometimes struggle with a 2 pass shave. I have been know to do a 4 and 5 pass with nonexsistant pressure and have near BBS with no irritation.
