RazorGuy Shave​

Today I was in the mood for shaving with my produsts, from pre-shave oil to aftershave. I am still traveling, therefore I am still using my Mastro Livi Grifetto 60 and, on this regard, I cannot wish for more, as this Grifetto is a perfect companion for traveling. The straight razor was superb, as usual, but I was very impressed by my shaving soap: the more I use it, the more I love it. Not only it gives a super slick, rich, creamy and wet lather, it also provides a very good moisturizing effect leaving the skin soft and smooth with no irritations. I am still using my old Bay Rum as the new batch is still macerating in rum and I guess I will finish its making as soon as I get home. For the moment, I am enjoying this Bay Rum as well as the pre-shave oil and shaving soap, not to mention, a magnificent straight razor.​

Stirling Island man today. 20 seconds to load the oscar11 HMQ. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna Med Prep in the NEW SC. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with CC Frozen Vetiver.

This was my first shave using this vintage Swiss-made razor made by Jacque Lecoultre (SR-maker from 1830-1919).
Solidly-made, this old razor with hardened "everlasting English Steel" takes a keen edge and is amazingly nimble. Three passes = near BBS results.

My last shave until Tuesday as I heading out of town for another guy's weekend into the wilds of Lake Tahoe.

I could feel the difference in switching to the new blade this AM, as it was a considerably smoother ride all around. The Ginger's Garden continues to be a top performer in thick, protective lather, but, with a new blade, I exercised restraint and kept it to two passes and DFS results.

Whaaaat a nice shave, what a nice shave!

First time pairing the Merkur 37c with a personna lab blue. It performed very very well! I got a slight burn on a small spot the mustasch area, but thats due to not having used the merkur for a loooong time plus I had like 7 days growth. Thanks @RaZorBurn123 for sending me the Personna blades and also the stirling soap samples! and the brush and razor hahaha... so many things from you, even though i payed for the merkur =P

7 day growth - Merkur 37c… 0-1!

Its the first time I use my own Bay rum aftershave after a shave so I decided I would use the Stirling Bay rum for a Bay rum theme, the scent in the bathroom was so nice and my aftershave also smells very very nice! Im so happy I made a batch and thanks to our @HolyRollah for posting his recipe with instructions.

I smell so good!

It was a great shave! as I told you, I really need to use stirling more often. I was going to pick wintergreen but then I remembered I wanted to do this bay rum shave so I could try my aftershave =)

 

I'm becoming more and more interested in bay rum soaps and aftershaves. It won't be long before I buy some of that stuff!

 

Dude.. I made my own bay rum aftershave =D you should try it haha

Barrister and Mann also has a very nice scented bay rum. But stirlings is definitely nicer

 

Well, by the end of this weekend I'll have made a good bay rum order!
