Wonderful and refreshing shave this morning with the Iced Cilantro Lime and Arctique AS. Have to say I really like this Artique. I noted last week I was somewhat disappointed with the expected blast from Arctique but this morning using an iced and not the super, super hyper-mentholated Cryogen was the factor. Guess my Cryogen is damn cold it masked the coldness of Arctique. Way back when I first opened the jar of Cryogen I posted a pic showing how the puck was completely covered with menthol crystals. By far the coldest soap in my arsenal and almost uncomfortable at that, but this morning I can appreciate the coolness and post shave feel of Arctique. Will have to say that out of the four B&M aftershaves that I have, I like this one the best. Have a great day ladies and gents and Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends.
For future shaves(probably some this week), I just bought the Gillette red can(although they now have Barbasol&Rise style caps on them, which I've noticed for a while now). I want to finish off the Gillette Cool Wave AS, so I can get ready to purchase Aqua Velva Musk for the winter-along with Clubman. So for now I'll be rotating 2 "double-headers", the Rise and Gillette. And I still have the Stephan Bay Rum, but I'm counting on the Gillette red cream to work with it, as The Rise Super Foamy doesn't seem to.
Hey a Gibbs razor. Did you have to mod that blade to fit? If it wasnt for the propriatory blades the Gibbs might be one of my favorite adjustables.
OCtober - Trick or TREET October 12 Razor - Gillette 1959 Super Speed Blade - (3) Brush - BoS Omega 10066 Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold water, Alum, Nivea Original Welcome to Monday. The new weeks starts with the second shave on the Treet Silver. I checked the blade this morning and see no signs of rust following my extra steps yesterday to keep the carbon blade going. That's a good thing. Whipped up a great lather with the BoSFat combination. I didn't go to the extra work of setting up the faux scuttle this time. Just loaded the brush and face lathered to a great lather as always. It seems like the more I use the puck the easier it is to load and lather. The theories (or proven tests) that MWF likes water appear to be true. The more the puck soaks up moisture the better it works. I'm thinking of doing an entire puck until gone at some point to see how long it lasts and if using it daily improves the lather even more. Yeah, I know, one more thing on my list. The Silver did a great job again today. Felt very similar to yesterday so no real reduction in the result. Still nice audio feedback which is one thing I love about carbons. You can definitely hear them working. Three passes to a DFS without any problems at all. Some more neck touch up and I could have caught the baby but that's just too much work on a Monday. So, quiet alum, hit it with the Nivea to keep things smooth and out the door I go! Have a great start to your week everyone.
Replying to my own post-just to clarify, I already HAVE Clubman, and expect to get Eddie P. back up and running sometime in November, for the winter. I suppose all this is to say that I am creating a "Den", like many of you are, but I'd have to take a picture underneath my bathroom sink for show and tell. EWWWWW (lol).
Day 13 on l'Occitane Cade and it's still going well. After 2 days with the Personna Lab in the NEW, I've decided it's a really close call between it and the Polsilver SI. I like both a lot. Over the weekend I mixed up a little personalized after shave and put it in this old flask. Still working on the formula but if I get it right I'll share it then.
