Both those blades are great preformers for me as well. I'd be interested to hear about your AS experiment when youre ready.
10/12/2015 Open Comb October!! / Menthol Mondays!! Woo Hoo!! Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Gillette Senator, H. Boker Master Razor straight razor Blade: Astra SP (3) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Chiseled Face - Cryogen After: Home made ASB Cologne: Midnight In Paris Open Comb October and Menthol Mondays and the weather is getting cooler around here. I almost did not use the Cryogen this morning because it makes my face go numb. But, the #6 brush whipped the Cryogen into a nice lather this morning. The Senator and the Boker did their jobs with ease and the Midnight In Paris was a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
Returned to my first vintage razor today - my grandpa's 1912. What's not to like - the 1912 is one of my favorites. T&H PSO AOS Lavender Cream T&H Wellington Super Badger GEM 1912 GEM SS with half spine shim Osma Alum Block AOS Lavender After Shave Balm
OCtober 12 - Menthol Monday Razo Rock Jaws - Shark Super Chrome (4) Proraso Green Vie Long Horsehair Every Man Jack Face Lotion Proraso Green AS I had a great shave today with the Jaws. It was the smoothest shave I have ever had with the beast. I only have two new razors, a Mekur 33C and the Jaws. I have been only using vintage razors for the past year and a half, and the last time I sued the Jaws was last OCtober. Since that time my technique must have improved muchly, as I did not have any irritation. The Jaws will become part of my rotation once more.

Razor: Gillette Aristocrat 1947 (Birth Razor) Blade: Voskhod Teflon Coated (7) Brush: WDC-4 Silver Tip Butterscotch Handle (VIG) 24/67 Soap: Proraso Green (added menthol crystals) A/S: Osage Rub Menthol Monday Beautiful day here today. Great day on the golf course, and an okay score. The Voskhod Teflon Coated blade held up very well over a week of shaving. ate to put the Aristocrat away, but I only use a razor for one week at a time. Excellent shave soap and Osage Rub finish. DFS this evening. Have a good Monday evening.
For Tuesday morning: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 2 Lea Classic SC Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Chabrawichi 555 Cologne I really like this Lea Classic cream - its scent is very nice, the lather is so rich and easy to whip up, and the menthol effect is actually quite strong, in fact it's stronger than I first thought it was. It's also very protective and soothing. Even the tube is very elegant-looking and classy. The Gold Bond is one of the best you can find for an aftershave balm and needless to say, the Rubby Dubby Doo is one hell of a face-freezer. Ok, not as heavy-duty as the B&M Arctique but still very frigid.

First post on TSD. So here we go.... Asylum Brush Works Scanlon. Shavecraft 101 OSS purchased off the classifieds. Derby Blade TOBS grapefruit cream Local potter bowl Floid Black sample Been using this set up for a few weeks. Though I do change up the aftershave. The SB side of the razor is great. I dont think I could cut myself if I tried. The OC leaves weepers. Not sure why as I read that the SB is supposed to be more aggressive - probably a YMMV thing or technique. The Scanlon brush is my first brush ever. Seems stiff to me. Very soft tips. Somewhat hard to splay but again it is my first brush so I have nothing to compare it to. I do love using a brush though. Derby blade seems fine but again really nothing to compare it against other than a Vietnam generic blade from Rite Aid. Love the Floid Black I received from Garry's sample shop. More samples on the way. Thanks to all those who post on this site - very helpful in getting me started on wet shaving. Much appreciated. Tried to upload a pic but it was too large..need to research....
Hey Jeff, DialforMen has a bodywash called "Sub Zero" just like some aftershaves I've seen on here(most probably were reported by you). I'll try the Dial next summer.
