  1. I have an E type (gold head and plastic handle) Schick injector and a Gem 1912. I have really been surprised by the durability of the Schick blades I purchased new (I think Chinese ones). I have been equally surprised at how quickly the SE blades I purchased at CVS dull out even with oiling. I just ordered some Gem stainless blades for $5.95, which seemed to be a bargain. I hope they last longer than the CVS carbons.

  2. They do! The Stainless GEMs last 3x's longer easy....for me....But I still love the Blue Star Carbons, but only for 2 or 3 shaves max...But the SS GEMS for over a week....And I agree, the Chinese sure know how to make a great Injector blade...But then I also love the Personna/EMS/Pella variety aswell...maybe a tad harsher than the Chinese Schicks but still better than almost any DE blade...:happy088:

  5. Update to my first Injector shave.
After I got home from Softball last night. I took my shower and decided to take my second shave. Same process as mentioned above. I dialed it up to 5 from 3. Had another great shave. I got under my jaw the best I ever had. My neck was not as good as the first time but still pretty good. I think I will really enjoy shaving with injectors.
I do have a question on this Adjustable. on the back of the razor there is a sliding lever. Where should this be pushed forward towards the head or back to the handle. The higher I go on the numbers the less it is allowed to slide. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Tom

  9. I could be wrong. I don't have one like that but I think that's the Protector model (or something like that). The switch is supposed to put a cover over the blade so you can just toss in it a toiletry kit without ruining the blade (and cutting up everything in your kit). That would be a nice feature for traveling

  11. Free menthol for Brian at the Injector & SE Party for a week!

Yep....the famous but seldom seen 'Protector' model....I always thought that Eversharp had a winner with this concept...I was a touring musician who had to change blades everytime I arrived at a new location just because I had to leave the razor unprotected in the shave bag while traveling. If you have a nice razor case that the razor clips into and the top snaps shut your cool but everyone I new bought their razor at 7-11 and ripped open the plastic and cardboard and threw the naked razor in the shave kit...But this bad boy was ready to protect that blade and everything from the blade....

  12. Hey guys, I was curious what SE is out there that have easily accessible blades. I wanted to get an injector or SE but I don't want to have trouble finding quality blades for a reasonable price. I love how I can buy 100 DE blades for 15 - 20 bucks. However i am aware that I won't get that lucky with SE blades. Thanks guys!

  13. If you look at how much longer an SE blade last than a DE it's really not bad....Also the injector blade price at EMS is darn good...Below is the EMS product discription, order no.'s and contact info.
Stainless Steel "PTFE" Coated 20 blades in a dispenser.
    71990 Dispenser each 4.50
    71991 Dispenser 10/lot 42.00

    Phone: 215-412-8400
    Toll Free: 800-523-5874
That means 200 blades for $42...same as DE only you get 7 to 10 shaves a blade instead of 3....Now it just becomes a matter of which you prefer...

    Now the GEM Stainless

That $2.81 for 10 blades....comes out to 80 blades for $20....almost as cheap as DE blads...But you can easilt get one to two weeks a blade shaving every day...So. "Defense Rests...."

  14. I'll pay double that ordering GEMS from Walgreens...It's so easy to do and my price per shave is still comparable....only my pleasure per shave is much higher.....YMMV...:happy097:

  19. French CS Hoe SE...;)

    Three Pass Shaving Routine...

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
    French CS Hoe Open Comb
Gem Stainless SE blade (Shimmed - x 2)
    Semogue Boar Brush
Erasmic Shaving Cream (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
    Logona Mann Aftershave Splash

Very nice razors these French Hoe Razors....This shaves very much like the French Louis Hoe ...They are very smooth and ever so comfortable...The Open Comb looks nasty but they have a very round curve and offer a lot of protection from the blade....I only shave every few days and I got an ever so close all over BBS result with this French Hoe....I am off to an Internal Martial Arts Training Camp in South Wales for a few days to learn Bagua circle walking and eight palm Qigong ...Not for the faint hearted ....;)
