(as mentioned by @Bird Lives I took an Arko stick and molded it into an empty, travel-size, push-up deodorant stick.
Glued the Arko label onto the outside. Works great for travel!)

Two-day growth, three-pass shave.
1st pass - WTG. Little feedback, good reduction.
2nd pass - XTG. Little feedback, better reduction.
3rd pass - ATG. Good feedback, excellent reduction.

Very good shave. Razor/blade very smooth, not extremely close on first two passes but adequate.
3rd pass knocked it out of the park, cleared the bases and I'm smooth all over.

Autumn is my favorite of season of the year. Among the many reasons - the Fall Classic!

I don't have much to contribute to the "Injector / SE Party" but I picked up this Schick Adjustable (Model M?) I have yet to use it, I have to add it to my list waiting in line. Needs a little bit of cleaning first...

Nice one Sir...The Adjustable was known in the early days as the Adjustable M because it has a previous M Type head with an Adjustable Feature...

Today's shave was the fraternal twin to my white handled, gold head I1. It arrived yesterday and after a cleaning last night it was put into service today with a Schick NOS Twin Blade. A learned gentleman on this forum suggested the twin blade would transform the I1. I'm happy to report it did. Despite having a super close shave yesterday with one of my E3s, the I1 found every last little whisker and bit of stubble. No weepers, nicks, or cuts.

Here is the black handled, silver head counterpart to the more commonly seen I1. The field at the top is getting crowded.

Yeah these are a bit rarer the one you have...They do shave amazingly close and comfortable though with these NOS Twin Blades...There has been more than a few folks being using Twin Blades recently and they all say the same thing...Until I got some myself I Scoffed at the Twin Blades as some sort of Sales Gimmick...

Since my hope is to use the Schick C1 as my travel shaver, I figured that for the rest of this week I’ll test it with the rest of my travel set-up - my Rubberset travel brush and either the La Toya or Arko soap stick

Two-pass shave.

2nd pass - ATG. Good feedback, better reduction.

A darn fine shave - no runs, no hits no errors!

What do you think of the La Toya vs. your usual Arko?

Thanks Karl, during the first 4-5 months each year, I do a substantial amount of road travel for business, so finding a good, reliable travel razor set-up that I can just keep at the ready, or even in the car, relieves me of one less thing to think about packing.

As for the Arko /La Toya issue.

I broke into wetshaving with Arko. I didn't mind the scent (like some) since it reminded me somewhat of the bath soap I used as a kid...and for a beginner shaver, the instant lather aspect served me very well especially in those first few months of learning traditional shaving. Whenever I hit a rut in my daily shave, or need to test a new product (razor/blade/brush) I just go back to it for a baseline.

I've just discovered the La Toya stick and just had my first shave with it today. I will probably test it at least through the rest of this week and beyond because I was very satisfied with it today. It lathers just as quick and easy as Arko. When I shave each day, I'm a two-pass shaver. Both of these soaps lather real easy and provide enough lather for 2+passes.

My initial sense is that La Toya provides equally good glide and cushion. The scent of La Toya (to me) is a bit on the spicy side compared to Arko. I initially think it will pair very nicely with 'barbershop' type aftershaves. It worked well with my Old Spice this morning and I'll try it with my Myrsol Blue as well.

Simply, both of these sticks will work well for me as travel soaps.

I have had the Comfort Lather Catcher for sometime now and this was my Maiden with it...I did not need use a shim as the blade sits to perfection on the forward blade guides...This razor is very aggressive with a modern blade but ever so smooth and efficient....I stuck on a Gem Junior Bar handle as I think the original handles are ugly buggers, but that just me...I could have walked away with a 2 pass DFS but went on for the Grand Ultimate BBS Result and Hey I am clean and refreshed without a hint of any irritation ...A very smooth and comfortable shave...The Comfort Lather Catcher does live up to its name...Good Karma...

The first vintage razor I purchased was a Clog-Pruf Micromatic. I had read a posting by Hoosier Trooper who had praised it's virtues and that was good enough for me. However, it wasn't put to use until today. After several days of Schicks I was surprised by the amount of audible feedback. It seemed to be even more than what I get from my 1912. I was careful with it and found it more user friendly than the open comb micromatic but still deserving of respect. A few spots where the shave was not as close as some of my recent ones but I think that is a reflection of the need for more time with my micromatics.

Another Classic from the good people at Eversharp...I love the G8, always have...It's Art Deco handle is very comfortable to hold and feels great in my hand....

I think I saw a Christmas Ad from 1952 with this handle...Since I've had this one I can't find the ad...So @Billyfergie or anyone else...Was the G8 52 or 53...The timeline says 53 but I believe it made the Christmas ads in 52...Can I get a definative ?

As far as I know the Christmas 1953 Ad was for the G 1 Type as they did for a few consecutive years....It would appear that the G 8 was introduced in 1953 as far as I can tell..
