Gillette NEW LC/Gillette Aristocrat* 1947 BYR

    CWR, Asma Alum Block

    Pinaud Vegetal

The ARKO Extra Performance Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #18 Silver Tip brush. First pass with my Gillette Aristocrat (1947 Birth Year Razor) with a Persona Super blade followed by second pass with the Gillette LC NEW gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Lilac Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

So true. I joined the Navy to see the world and never left San Diego County. Went to boot Camp, Hospital Corpsman School in San Diego, requested to go to the Fleet Marines and the Navy sent me to the NRMC at Pendleton and the rest of my Corpsman class to the fleet marines, go figure. Anyway, Marines would go out of their way in many ways to assist a corpsman and we in return would do the same, on or off the battlefield. Have many a great friend who are Marines and the camaraderie between the two branches is awesome.

    Gillette New LC
    Feather blade (3)
    Kent BK4 silvertip brush
    Trumper's Coconut cream
    Two passes plus touch-ups
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

My Bride and I just returned from a few days of vacation in Florida. Lather was much easier to build on the trip than at home due to the soft water. The BK4 is a great travel brush. The knot is not overly dense, so it dries relatively quickly. It's a mid-size brush, and it packs easily in a brush tube. I've obtained an easy, near-BBS, and very comfortable two-pass shave using this set up almost everyday this month. I'm nearing the end of my Trumper's Coconut cream. I plan to use up this container to make room for some new soaps, including Soap Commander, Barrister & Mann, and La Toja.

I hope you all are having a great week!

PREP: SHOWER THE CHANDRIKA SOAP/ NOXZEMA FACE WASH
    RAZOR: GILLETTE SUPERSPEED FLAIR TIP
    BLADE: SUPER-MAX SUNRISE
    BRUSH: EVERREADY 600
    SOAP: MAGGARD'S TOBACCO & LEATHER
    POST: CATTIE'S BUBBLES LPV AFTERSHAVE

Had a pretty decent 3 pass shave today. 2nd time with the new Maggard's soap. Scooped a little bit out with a butter knife and bowl lathered. I have noticed that there are little pieces in the soap that are hard to get mixed up. It did start to burn my face a little bit on the 3rd pass so I will have to try it a few more times, because I love the scent so I really want it to work out. Finished off with CB LPV which is a nice spicy aftershave with a good ingredient list to it. Hope everyone had a great shave and a great day!

Although our weather is starting to get chilly that won't stop me from using my menthol treasures which I love so much. This is a shave featuring two great, talented American artisans. Rod's awesome MITA soap has such a lovely citrusy, tropical scent with wonderful lather and a very generous amount of menthol, together with tons of brilliant skincare. I can't get over how cooling and soothing the Lucky Tiger a/s cream is, as well as how moisturizing and protective it is. Brian's Frostbite aftershave splash is so exotically-scented and it has a boatload of menthol goodness with a fabulous post-shave feeling. ;) :D

I've decided that if a soap is soft enough to scoop some like a cream, I'll bowl lather. if it is that hard,I load the brush from the container and face lather. I dislike those unused pieces going down the drain.

Osborne, Garrett & Co. Kropp, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round point

A very pleasing shave. It has been quite a long time since I used this Kropp razor and I can still say it is a great shaver. I simply refreshed its edge on my Mastro Livi loom strop with his chromium oxide stick and this Kropp was absolutely ready to give me a very good shave. I also used Martin De Candre soap - what else can be said about this magnificent soap? - and mounting the lather with my Mastro Livi "Italian Brush" has been very easy. The finishing touch has been provided by this Felce Azzurra Uomo aftershave, not the very best around, however doing a good job.
    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Martin De Candre
    • Brush: Mastro Livi Silvertip Badger "Pennello Italiano", 24mm knot
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Osborne, Garrett & Co. Kropp, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Felce Azzurra Uomo
