Unfortunately, I am out on business travel, so I will have to wait until Saturday to try it out, but I'll let you know what I think.

It give you good sound feedback. You find it hard to hold? The handle seems very smooth. I like aggressive cutting razors. What setting do you like to use?

Since you have used both, do you think the Futur on setting 6 come close to the shave of R41?

Ive never had any issues holding on to it. I also prefer aggressive razors but have never had it set higher than 3 or 4, which seems comparable to 7 or 8 on my Fatboy or Slim.

Not sure if I bought nine twin cartridges...or a metal, Burma-Shave cartridge handle - but for less than $5 for the lot it might not matter too much.

...and, last one: another Stahly in working condition w/ case that I am buying for a friend. $31 and I think he'll be pretty happy with it.
(Actually quite a few of my recent purchases have been w/ the intention to pass them along)

    Seller description:
"Razor vibrates by winding up the bottom end of the handle. Tested & works. Razor is in excellent condition."

I didn't enjoy the wide-open Futur as much as I enjoy the R41 shave. Why? The gaping razor face on the Futur at that setting I found somewhat unsettling to use and had greater confidence at a milder setting.
The R41 provides an extremely close shave without the same degree or risk of injury. Remember, this is coming from a person who almost exclusively uses straight razors each morning. I feel I have better control with a SR than I had with the Futur wide open.

I understand about the difference. The Gillette Slim Adjustable at 9 does not have the same control as an under 7 setting. And it has not where near the exposure of the Futur.

I have added an addition razor to the "in the mail" wait list. :hooray: It is another open comb.

Picked up a lot that I'd normally wouldn't go for as 50% of the stuff I don't really want - but I really liked the Tech/case and the, I think, ABC case.
I put in a low offer and lo' and behold it was accepted.
Anyone need some handkerchiefs and a leatherette travelkit? :D

@Morman Bridge could you possibly identify the case? :)

Hello Darkbulb, the case you are looking at is a Gillette Pocket Edition case from the 1920's. As opposed to an ABC set case. ABC set's were made from 1907 to 1915. Then Gillette started making their own cases. The case you are looking at would have had a Ball End Old Type in it. That particular Floral pattern case is slightly thicker than an ABC Pocket Edition case would have been. Also it has been said, the Floral pattern on the Gillette Pocket Edition case is not as intricate as the Floral pattern on an ABC Pocket Edition case. I hope this input helps you sir. Have a great day! Oh and on an ABC set case, there would be patent information for numerous countries stamped on the bottom. That is the first thing to look for. If there is no patent information stamped on the bottom, it is not an ABC case.

Hello again Darkbulb, here is a photo of the two different cases. The Gillette Pocket Edition case is on the left, and the ABC Pocket Edition case is on the right.

    Great that helps.
I see you got a matching razor to the pocket edition case as well. I think I might have one lying around somewhere so with some luck I can complete the set easily :)

Also, the blade case that goes with your set would have been the cigarette pack style blade bank, as opposed to the match striker blade bank. Any silver Ball End Old Type would work for your set. Good luck completing the set! I hope you post a photo of it after completion. And then Enjoy!!!

Nice razors jimmy Mac! Are they heirloom razors?
