I have a soap from Europe on the way here, but I'll only tell everyone what it is when it gets here! ;) (not too many guys have heard of it!)

    Guy,

The knot in your Paladin is NOT a TGN Knot. It's a 2-band badger knot by Lee Sabini of Morris & Forndran. IMHO leave it be my friend. It's a nice knot!

Two different brushes Mark. The one I mentioned above is the Bob Quinn that arrived today and I will be using in tomorrow morning's shave.

Early 20th century straight razor; American importer Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. (the eventual 'True Hardware' stores); German-made razor with spiffy pearl-covered tang. A $16 ebay purchase —cheaper than the original 1917 asking price of $36/dozen (about $40 per razor in today's dollars)! :D

The R41 came and I understand about the less degree of risk. With no pressure applied its cut great and it is very hard to get a cut without adding pressure. I get a greater danger of a cut from my Slim on a 9 setting.

So what straigh razor do you use most days?

I use a variety in shave-ready rotation—about 14-16 razors. Each is unique and most have a different 'feel' than the other...
