Well, no shave tonight. Someone on the first floor blew up a bottle in their room and set off the fire sprinklers down there. Now the water is cut off. The joy of the barracks.
28 October 2015 30 Days with a Gillette Fat Boy I tried Feather for the first time today. Danger B says it's Murica's Finest Blade! Chose seven on the dial, and did the normal routine, La Toja never fails. Alum was good, TSD 2d Iced FW type AS was today's selection. Will re-evaluate at the twelve hour mark, but early indications are most promising. Other than that...all is quiet in Colordo! Have a triumphant Thursday!
It was pretty sweet! They are indeed sharp blades. You and @wristwatchb are on to something good here!
I figure no matter what happens with the Feather at least the lather will be awesome. The only downside.....my Wolf Whiskers brush should arrive just in time to sit for a month.
You're gonna like Feather. If you like your skin, light pressure...sharp, sharp, sharp. And no guard on your Feather! I am gonna write more about it after twelve hours pass. See if GSB is really all that...I was impressed tonight.
I have normally preferred Kai DE blades to Feather, though I've had some really good shaves with the Feathers. Now when it comes to the AC blades I have had a lot more deadly results with Feather Pros than any of the Kais. My plan for November is to use Kai Milds in it but I'm almost convinced to go with the Feather Pros again. If I"m going to go all in I might as well make the jump from day one. Besides, I've never been shy about jumping into potentially lethal situations with DE combinations and I've survived some time with the AC's. Now or never .
Well, you just need to learn the mantra........."what's the _________ that could ____________"? It's what has kept myself and @Drygulch going over the past couple of weeks! A salute to NOVember!
OK.....you cats have heard me raving non-stop about injectors and Schick repeaters....and rightfully so... And my Schick Simplified Automatic Repeater has wasted much of it's competition... The Schick E2 put away my OC Micromatic on a couple occasions... BUT....I've refrained from pulling my ultimate shaving SE....my 1914 Ever Ready Little Lather Catcher... Well tonight I brought her out and cleaned her up a little....This razor was the BBS King in my shave cave for several years...The one all others were measured by.... Well she's still unsurpassed! Such an easy BBS....as if she wasn't even trying! I'm still thinking that the Schick Simplified Automatic can hold her own....It looks like these two and the Ever Ready 1924 are the top tier of my razor heirarchy.... It kills me to think this lovely is 100 years old or within a few years... Test question for tonight....which side of the lovely ER 1914 is her most attractive... A: B: BTW...that lather on my Baby-Pro brush is whats left after 3 passes with Arko....
Another great photo. You just keep them coming on after the next. Interested in your thoughts on the knot in that brush. My Manchurian knot is on the way to Doug to make me a handle worthy of the knot.
I haven't tried as many different blades as you but the Feather has really worked well for me. I just find the blades very consistent.
10/29/15 Gillette NEW LCulfix Super Badger (660) Proraso Sandalwood cream Aqua Velva Ice Blue Shave #1 with the Lord Platinum Class in my New LC. Face lather and 2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG. Very good reduction. Pass 2: ATG. Rinsed and did a moderate amount of touch where I could easily feel stubble. A nice DFS at that point. A cold water rinse followed by more touch up and was rewarded with a BBS. The Aqua Velva stung a bit more today, but I did not feel any stubble as I rubbed it in, and nothing once it dried. A nice BBS from the Lord Platinum Class in my New LC. A very comfortable shave. I spent a little more time with the touch up today. As the water got colder, I kept finding tiny patches of stubble I could attack. Perhaps if I'd let the water get ice cold before I rinsed they might have all come out at once.
