Tyr's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter) Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (5) Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (11, 12, 13) Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy Second verse, same as the first. Lather was just as good today, but the blade was notably duller, so that instead of a BBS, I had to settle for DFS+ results. The difference in my skin's feel during post-shave care is substantial when I'm not applying alum directly; I have to remember not to obsessively rinse.
Tuesday Still no ingrowns or infected folicles with the absent of the ATG pass. I'm slowly working towards a gradually more and more ATG for that last XTG. I'm trying to see how and when it goes bad with the follicles. Still no sign. Aces! DFS!

Gem Feather Weight razor Gem Blue Star blade Lea Menthol SC Plisson/L'Occitane brush Osage Rub/Jason's Aloe Gel shave with the Feather Weight and it was about the same as yesterday. Pretty smooth, close and did ok. But it seems to be a very mild razor and is a little harder to get the shave I"m used to with injectors. One more day with it and I'll decide if it's a regular in the rotation or not. Now go enjoy your day folks

Last night's shave. Prep: hot shower, Neutrogena Face Wash. Brush: Turkish #6. Razor: Schick Krona. Blade: SuperMax Titanium. Cream: Dettol Cool. Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS, Myrsol Emulsion. Two pass BBS. Dettol Cool comes from India. It's the first Indian cream I've used. There are a lot of high quality grooming products that come from India like shaving creams, toothpastes, bath soaps, and so on. Most can be had for very cheap at an Indian store stateside. I only had a small area to shave because I'm growing my beard. This stuff lathered very well, stayed slick, and provided excellent cushion for the blade. I'll use this a few more times and then post a review.

TUESDAY Silent, near-wedge shave this morning with this vintage Wostenhom & sons razor. Menthol-bombed MWF and finished with TSD aftershave milk. DFS+! Have a great Tuesday, all!
Well, as we all know Canada is a VERY cold country and she produces a hell of a cold soap. This Polar Vortex gives tons of some of the richest lather you can ask for with a menthol effect, which isn't too far from the Glacials. The Lucky Tiger a/s cream is in a class by itself, and the Krampert's Frostbite aftershave is POWERFULLY-cold. Another great shave which I enjoyed so much!

I love this soap, Layrite No. 9 Bay Run aftershave is okay, not overly heavy on cloves but a nice scent. It doesn't stay very long. Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE

TOBACCO TUESDAY! PREP: MUSGO REAL CLASSIC RAZOR: GILLETTE TECH/PROBAK BLADE: BOLZANO (1ST USE) BRUSH: FINE ANGEL HAIR SYNTHETIC LATHER: OGALLALA BAY RUM SAGE & CEDAR/ RAZOROCK TOBACCO #1 POST: WSP TOBACCO This was my first shave with Bolzano blades and it was very smooth. The Ogallala mixed well with the RR soap, and this is a combination that I will have to remember. The bay rum and cedar were the dominant scents but the tobacco added a sweetness to it and it combined to make a great scent. The slickness and performance was great as well. Finished off with WSP Tobacco and got no burn from the aftershave so this turned out to be a great shave. Hope everyone has good luck with todays shave!

NOVember - No Variation November 3 Razor - Day three here we come. I debated long and hard last night about changing to a milder blade but no, I'm still using the Feather. I did apply aloe last night just to help moisturize. With me running around outside all day I'm not doing my face any favors, especially not after a couple of days of working with this thing. Let's see if I can smooth out two things.....my face for starters (starting to look like I've been beat up a bit) and the shave. BoSFat for the win on lather. I keep shaking the brush out a bit more each day and I think I'm almost in the butter zone with this soap. It will work with a wet brush but better with a dryer one. I'm seeing and feeling the difference. Picked up the stick of pain and went to work. Same routine, start right, get the cheek then the neck, then the left, check then neck. Second pass is XTG or DTG (diagonally) and a better work around the jaw line. Third pass is clean up and an attempt to get everything evenly smooth without blood. So, how did it go? Well, through the first pass fine. No issues, didn't reopen anything, seemed like it was working well. Second pass...yeah here we go. I reopened the cut just under my chin but not too bad. Set up for a WTG pass near my right ear and set the blade down a split second too early. I hadn't fully rotated it into position and felt the blade come in vertically. Just a twinge and I pulled back in a flash. Didn't see anything so I continued. As I worked the jaw on that side I noticed just a hint of blood. Faded away quickly but there is a slight cut I can feel now. Fortunately superficial. Other than the chin and that slight cut I had no problems. The finish is still in the CCS category but I'll live with that until I get the technique fully down and start getting solid results across all the passes. Alum was hot but not nearly as hot as yesterday and my face wasn't that glowing red color. Clearly yesterday I tried too hard and pushed too far. Lesson learned, hopefully. I finished with the Nivea and I'll go back with alum again tonight as that seemed to help. Shaving with this setup is a bit like landing a plane. Any shave you can walk away from (without heavy bandaging) is a good shave. Happy Tuesday!
