1. A Ranger Tech is never a shameful acquisition - one of the best razors Gillette ever made. I can't tell but is it a '41 or '43?

  6. Received a Derby, quadruple silver plated shaving soap stick holder.
Haven't done any extensive dating research on it but my assumption is about 1890-1920.
I also have yet too figure out how much I can/want to try to clean it up.

    It's surprisingly heavy and solid.

..and apparently Arko was a favorite of people already back then as it's a perfect fit in this tube :D

  7. Very nice! I want one.

  8. Thanks. For $16 it felt like a fair price. I really like the feel and heft of it.
  9. You stole it
  10. It was priced at a bit over $20...and I made a humble suggestion that maybe $16 would be a better price and the seller agreed :)

  11. Received the "most hated" Mongoose handle this week.
The quote on the invoice, from Mongoose themselves, read:
""The Most Hated Handle in Wetshaving - One of Ten Prototype Handles w/ cross-hatch knurling (discount for slight knurling flaws)"

    To the left:

    ...and with a Mongoose head:

  14. I really don't know - the words quoted are by Mongoose themselves.

Here's their FB post about the handle:
"Hi All - we have a handful of handles that were considered as an option in the early days of the Mongoose. We shared some pics and got mixed reviews; but the guys who didn't like them were VERY vocal about how much they disliked them, thus the name "The Most Hated Handle in Wetshaving" was born.

Here's your opportunity to own one of them. It's 1/2" diameter, 90 grams, fully polished with some cross-hatch knurling. These three have slight imperfections in the knurling - you can see them if you tilt it in bright light, so we'll blow them out for $20, shipped ($5 higher for non-US addresses).

  17. Just arrived from @clint64 , a Rubberset 400 handle. I am going to make a new collar for it and give it a new knot. Thanks, Clint.

  20. My Boker Red Injun arrived in the afternoon mail. I can't believe how pristine it is. I have a hard time believing that it has ever been used. The pics really don't do it justice.
