1. Too many shave mugs. I bid on several mugs, first, lowest offer, expecting to hit one. So far I have been highest bidder on 4 of 5. I think some will go to PIF. It is a good experience to lather up like Dr. Watson may have done.

  2. Hello all, I just scored a rather unique English Super Speed set. It has a green Bakelite case and blade banks, and a Rhodium? Plated English Super Speed. Or at least I think it is Rhodium plated. It sure looks like it in the photos. Here's a screenshot of the set-

Mr Razor has a similar set on his site, but not this exact one. I'm pretty sure it's a correct set, the English were known to use many different Bakelite cases with various sets. I'm doing the happy dance over here!!!
  3. I think I just scored an original all metal Wilkinson Protector w/ stand for $10.

  5. Hello, unfortunately, I think the case may be a mismatch. I wish it were not, but it probably is. The case is the same as what is used for an English 77 New set. Too bad. I just now found it on Mr Razors site.

  6. You outbid me on that one. Nice catch!

  7. I just bought an inexpensive lot that has something that needs to be cleaned up. Crossing my fingers on this one.

  8. Regardless of the case it's still a British non-rocket SS :)

  9. Waiting on some blades I ordered last night from tryablade.com. 31 different blades in total, 1 of each. This was my first time ordering from them and they have a great selection of blades and a few were ones I haven't heard of before. I have been surprised lately how good some of the less common blades really are.

  10. Sorry about that Mr Chick! My max bid was only three dollars more than what I won it at. Better luck next time sir!

  11. Waiting on an Reed & Barton Sterling razor handle.
I've been looking for one for some time but it seems that the only ones that comes up are either the silver plated ones (non-sterling), have some monograms on them and/or no case.
Happy to finally have scored one that looks good.

  12. Nice looking handle, Darkbulb!
  13. Thanks :)

I think it looks a little bit like this other Atra handle I have:

  15. I'm expecting a Rubberset 400 handle from @clint64 . He had an accident with the head when attempting a restore. @david of central florida suggested he pif it to me. I am stoked at the prospects of making a new head for it from some wood. Thanks guys.
  16. Man, that is very cool.

  17. I'm waiting on a (second hand, needless to say) New Forest Tubby 2. Curious about the condition, think it might be a few years old. I keep on searching for the perfect brush [for me], yet I still haven't gone for any of the premium ones. You have professed your love for another New Forest brush, @PLANofMAN - know the Tubby as well? I also have a Gillette New LC incoming, uncertain about date code.

  19. :D I read this as Clint having an accident with his own head and was puzzled by how this would happen when restoring. Not to mention how his condition was not further mentioned. Glad to hear that you are OK @clint64 ;)

  20. No, I am fine. I dropped the collar of a Rubberset 400 that I was polishing and damaged it beyond repair. In effort to turn lemons into lemonade, I sent Jim the undamaged handle portion for one of his projects.
